White matter tracts link different regions of the brain, and the known functions of those interconnected regions may offer clues about the roles that white matter tracts play in information relay. The authors of this report discuss the structure and function of the lateral occipital lobe and how the lateral occipital lobe communicates with other regions via white matter tracts. ⋯ There was good concordance between the white matter tracts generated using GQI and the white matter tracts that were found after dissection of the cadaveric brains. This article presents the anatomic connections of the lateral occipital lobe and discusses the associated functions.

The connective tissue between suboccipital muscles and the cervical spinal dura mater (SDM) is known as the myodural bridge (MDB). However, the adjacent relationship of the different connective tissue fibers that form the MDB remains unclear. This information will be highly useful in exploring the function of the MDB. ⋯ Our findings prove that the MDB exists as a complex structure which we termed the 'myodural bridge complex' (MDBC). In the process of head movement, tensile forces could be transferred possibly and effectively by means of the MDBC. The concept of MDBC will be beneficial in the overall exploration of the function of the MDB.

In the literature, there is a lack of complete description of dural arteries of the dorsoclival area with contradictory data. However, dorsoclival area is a site of tumors and vascular malformation or the skull base. That is why, the knowledge of dural arteries is very important. ⋯ Dural arterial supply of the dorsoclival area is very opulent. Its knowledge is important for surgical approaches and endovascular procedures.

Despite their emerging therapeutic relevance, there are many discrepancies in anatomical description and terminology of the articular nerves supplying the human knee capsule. This cadaveric study aimed to determine their origin, trajectory, relationship and landmarks for therapeutic purpose. ⋯ The pattern of distribution of sensitive nerves supplying the knee joint capsule allows accurate and safe targeting of five constant genicular nerves for therapeutic purpose. This study provides robust anatomical foundations for genicular nerve blockade and radiofrequency ablation.

The typical anatomical illustration of the trochlear notch articular surface includes a transverse rough non-articular ridge which separates the olecranon and coronoid part of the joint. This transverse ridge, the "bare area", is not covered by cartilage and represents the optimal entry point for olecranon osteotomies. Aim of the present study was to encounter the anatomical variations in the morphology of the trochlear notch articular surface. ⋯ The most common morphological pattern of the proximal ulna articular surface was the olecranon and coronoid facets separated by the transverse ridge, which is considered as the typical anatomical pattern. The partial fusion of olecranon and coronoid facets was the second most common pattern (27.5%) and the single olecranon and coronoid facet with no transverse ridge present was the rarest one (12.1%). These variations affect the area covered by cartilage. They are noticeable in an elbow MRI and they may have implications on olecranon osteotomy. Absence of the transverse ridge may confuse the surgeon during elbow arthroscopy.
