COVID-19 Outbreak and Presymptomatic Transmission in Pilgrim Travelers Who Returned to Korea from Israel.
On February 21, 2020, 2 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in pilgrim travelers from Korea to Israel were identified. We investigated the source of infection, clinical features of COVID-19, and transmission potential of presymptomatic and asymptomatic cases. ⋯ To prevent transmission of COVID-19, we need to focus on presymptomatic and asymptomatic cases, and massive testing for SARS-CoV-2 is required. More research about the possibility of presymptomatic transmission over 2 days before symptom onset is required.

Cell-type-specific Modulation of Non-homologous End Joining of Gamma Ray-induced DNA Double-strand Breaks by cAMP Signaling in Human Cancer Cells.
Cyclic AMP (cAMP) signaling is activated by various hormones and neurotransmitters and regulates numerous physiological phenomena, including energy metabolism, gene expression, and proliferation. cAMP signaling plays a role in the repair of DNA damage, but its specific function is inconsistent in the literature. The present study aimed to investigate the mechanism of the different roles of cAMP signaling in DNA repair by analyzing the cell-type differences in the modulation of DNA repair by cAMP signaling following γ-ray irradiation. ⋯ cAMP signaling modulates the NHEJ repair of γ-ray-induced DNA damage in melanoma cells, uterine cervical cancer cells and lung cancer cells in a cell-type-specific manner, and the modulation is likely mediated by protein kinase A-dependent phosphorylation of DNA-PKcs. This study suggests that cell- and tissue-specific modulation of DNA damage repair by cAMP signaling may contribute to improve the therapeutic efficiency of radiation therapy.

Risk Factors for Intraprocedural Rerupture during Embolization of Ruptured Intracranial Aneurysms.
Intraprocedural rupture (IPR) is a devastating complication in endovascular treatment of ruptured intracranial aneurysms, but its risk factors have not been fully assessed. This study was performed to explore the risk factors for IPR during embolization of ruptured cerebral aneurysms. ⋯ Aneurysms with irregular morphology, aneurysms ≤ 3.4 mm in diameter, time from onset to intervention > 2 days and cerebral vasospasm during embolization are independent risk factors for IPR during coil embolization of ruptured aneurysms. More attention should be paid to the factors increasing the risk of IPR in patients with ruptured aneurysms so as to minimize this complication.
