An Integrated Guide for Designing Video Abstracts Using Freeware and Their Emerging Role in Academic Research Advancement.
Video abstracts (VAs) are a motion picture equivalent of written abstracts. With greater use of social media platforms for post publication promotions of research articles, VAs have gained increasing popularity among researchers in recent years. ⋯ Moreover, these may be the preferred medium for communicating certain types of information, such as diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, qualitative research, perspectives, and techniques. In this article, the authors discuss the role of VAs in the advancement of academic research, plausible designs, freeware for making videos, and specific considerations for crafting good VAs.

Early and Two-year Outcomes after Sutureless and Conventional Aortic Valve Replacement: a Nationwide Population-based Study.
We compared early and 2-year clinical outcomes of sutureless aortic valve replacement (SAVR) with conventional aortic valve replacement (CAVR) in a nationwide study based on claims data. ⋯ Early and 2-year clinical outcomes between SAVR and CAVR were not different except for a high rate of permanent pacemaker implantation in the SAVR group.

Estimating Baseline Incidence of Conditions Potentially Associated with Vaccine Adverse Events: a Call for Surveillance System Using the Korean National Health Insurance Claims Data.
Vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are raising concerns about vaccine safety, particularly in the context of large-scale immunization. To address public concerns, we measured the baseline incidence rates of major conditions potentially related to vaccine-related adverse events (VAEs). We aimed to provide a basis for evaluating VAEs and verifying causality. ⋯ We measured the incidence of a total of 11 conditions that could potentially be associated with VAEs to predict the monthly incidence in 2021. In Korea, conditions that could potentially be related to VAEs occur on a regular basis, and an increasing trend is observed with seasonality.

The Mediating Effect of Insomnia on the Relationship between Panic Symptoms and Depression in Patients with Panic Disorder.
This study aimed to determine if sleep disturbances may mediate the relationship between panic symptoms and depression in patients with panic disorder (PD). ⋯ Both depressive symptoms and insomnia are common in patients with PD and depression was partially mediated by insomnia in these patients. These results suggest that an intervention for insomnia in patients with PD might help prevent the development of depression.

Development and Evaluation of an Inter-professional Education Course at a Medical School in Korea.
Interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) is emphasized in medical care for patient safety. As patient care is provided by teams, interprofessional competence is required to ensure the quality and safety of care and should be taught as early as possible. In this study, we introduced a 2-week interprofessional education (IPE) curriculum and attempted to describe and evaluate its effectiveness among medical students. ⋯ The IPE program was effective in preparing medical students for team based collaborative practice even though it was short and exposed once in the curriculum. Further extension to other medical schools is recommended.
