Case ReportsEarly-Onset Myasthenia Gravis Following COVID-19 Vaccination.
As coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread worldwide, the rate of COVID-19 vaccination uptake is encouraging. Neurological complications associated with COVID-19 vaccines such as stroke, Guillain-Barré syndrome, and Bell's palsy have been reported. Recently, late-onset myasthenia gravis (MG) following COVID-19 vaccination has been reported. ⋯ A 33-year-old woman suddenly experienced generalized weakness and diplopia on the evening she had received the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine. The temporal relationship suggests that this new-onset MG is related to the vaccination. It also implies that COVID-19 vaccination could trigger early-onset MG symptoms in patients at risk of MG.

A Retrospective Population-Based Survival Study of Idiopathic Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension in Korea.
Few studies used nationwide data to assess the survival rates (SRs) and death risk for idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH; ICD-10 I27.0) in Korea. ⋯ The 10-year SR of IPAH was 57% in Korea. The HR for IPAH was significantly high in patients with older age and other risk factors.

Case ReportsA Case Report of Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia After ChAdOx1 nCov-19 Vaccination and Heparin Use During Hemodialysis.
Vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT) is a rare but life-threatening complication. VITT strongly mimics heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) and shares clinical features. Heparin is commonly used to prevent coagulation during hemodialysis. ⋯ There were no definitive diagnostic tools capable of differentiating between VITT and HIT in this patient. Although VITT and HIT share treatment with IVIG and non-heparin anticoagulation, distinguishing between VITT and HIT will make it possible to establish a follow-up vaccination plan in a person who has had a thrombocytopenic thrombotic event. Further research is needed to develop the tools to make a clear distinction between the clinical syndromes.

Enhanced Hypoxia-Associated Genes in Impaired Contractility From Bladder Outlet Obstruction.
Hypoxia damages the bladder wall and contributes to the initiation of bladder dysfunction. The change of hypoxia is not well known in impaired bladder contractility caused by long-term bladder outlet obstruction (BOO). We aimed to find out whether hypoxia of bladder tissue is present and what signaling mechanisms are involved in the decompensated bladder in BOO. ⋯ Hypoxia genes were increased in impaired contractility because of long-term BOO. The gene expression profiles could explain the molecular mechanisms of hypoxia in impaired contractility because of long-term BOO.

There is no national survey on medical school faculty members' burnout in Korea. This study aimed to investigate burnout levels and explore possible factors related to burnout among faculty members of Korean medical schools. ⋯ This first nationwide study alerts that a significant number of faculty members in Korean medical schools seem to suffer from a high level of burnout. Further studies are necessary for identifying the burnout rate, related factors, and strategies to overcome physician burnout.
