Validation of the Hindi version of the early childhood oral health impact scale among 3-5-year-old preschool children in Rohtak city, Haryana.
The early childhood oral health impact scale (ECOHIS) has been developed for assessing oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in the preschool children and translated and validated in different languages to conform to their cultures. This tool has not been validated in Hindi for use among Indian preschool children till now. Hence, the present study was undertaken to assess the validity of the Hindi version of the ECOHIS among 3-5-year-old preschool children in Rohtak city, Haryana. ⋯ The Hindi version of the ECOHIS is a valid instrument for assessing OHRQoL in preschool children.

Three-dimensional assessment of transverse displacement with Facemask and Maxgym in unilateral cleft lip and palate model.
Growing patients with cleft lip and palate (CLP) exhibit maxillary deficiency due to early surgical intervention. Maxillary protraction with expansion is the recommended treatment modality for deficient maxilla. Facemask is a conventional protraction appliance, and Maxgym is a new protraction appliance. The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of Maxgym with Facemask using finite-element analysis. ⋯ Maxgym forces produce greater transverse displacement as compared to facemask with or without expansion.

Randomized Controlled TrialpH modulation and salivary sugar clearance of different chocolates in children: A randomized clinical trial.
Sugars that occur naturally in foods and those added in processed foods may act as the source for fermentable carbohydrates and may initiate caries process. Among all the foods consumed by children, chocolates form an important constituent. A wide variety of chocolates are available in the Indian market and very few studies have compared their acidogenicity and salivary sugar clearance. ⋯ Dark chocolate had a high fall in pH and milk chocolate had low salivary sugar clearance which signifies that unfilled chocolates are more cariogenic than other chocolates. Even though mango-flavored candy had maximum fall in plaque pH, its salivary sugar clearance was high.
