Psychometric properties of the Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire in patients with neck pain.
To translate the Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire and investigate the validity and reliability of the Chinese version of the questionnaire in patients with neck pain. ⋯ The Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire is a valid and reliable tool for patients with neck pain. It has been shown to demonstrate very good content validity, a high degree of test-retest reliability and internal consistency, good construct validity and medium responsiveness.

Reliability and sensitivity to change of measurement instruments used in a traumatic brain injury population.
To compile a minimum data set for the follow-up of traumatic brain injury patients from discharge from hospital to one year post injury to assess functioning and participation in the physical, cognitive and psychosocial domains, and in quality of life. ⋯ An example of a reliable minimum data set that is also able to detect changes over time is: the FIM, the FAM and the Coop for the early stages in recovery, extended with the NRS, the FAI, and the SIP-68 later in recovery, thereby covering all relevant domains after traumatic brain injury.

A systematic review of randomized controlled trials. ⋯ For low back pain, segmental stabilizing exercises are more effective than treatment by GP but they are not more effective than other physiotherapy interventions.

To identify the standardized outcome measures currently used in routine clinical practice in rehabilitation centres in the UK. ⋯ The survey demonstrated quite widespread use of outcome assessments in routine clinical rehabilitation within the UK, with an encouraging level of common measurement in some areas of practice. The results have been used to update the BSRM 'basket of recommended measures'.

Using the timed up and go test to stratify elderly inpatients at risk of falls.
To determine whether the Timed Up and Go Test is useful at stratifying acutely unwell elderly inpatients according to their risk for subsequent falls. ⋯ In the acute care setting, the value of the Timed Up and Go lies in the inability to complete the test, and the reasons for this inability, rather than the time recorded.
