Partially dead, partially separated: establishing the mechanism between ambiguous loss and grief reaction among caregivers of patients with prolonged disorders of consciousness.
To trace the psychological mechanism underlying caregivers' emotional experience in prolonged disorders of consciousness, by examining the mediating role of boundary ambiguity in the relationship between ambiguous loss and grief. ⋯ Ambiguity concerning relational boundaries hinders caregivers' ongoing grief reaction and impedes their ability to integrate the loss. High frequency of visits, belief in the patient's psychological presence and difficulties in tolerating uncertainty are all clinical manifestations of caregivers' entangled experience.

To investigate the efficacy of a four-week underwater treadmill exercise regimen compared to a home exercise regimen relative to pain relief and functional improvement in obese patients with knee osteoarthritis. ⋯ Exercise using an underwater treadmill was found to be as efficacious as home exercise for relieving pain and improving function in obese people with mild to moderate knee osteoarthritis.

To compare the effects of diacutaneous fibrolysis with sham in patients with mild to moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. ⋯ Diacutaneous fibrolysis provides short-term and one-month follow-up, improvements in sensory conduction velocity, motor distal latency, symptoms and functional capacity in patients with mild to moderate carpal tunnel syndrome.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyTraditional and augmented reality mirror therapy for patients with chronic phantom limb pain (PACT study): results of a three-group, multicentre single-blind randomized controlled trial.
To compare the effects of traditional mirror therapy (MT), a patient-centred teletreatment (PACT) and sensomotor exercises without a mirror on phantom limb pain (PLP). ⋯ Traditional MT over four weeks was not more effective than sensomotor exercises without a mirror in reducing PLP, although significant effects were suggested in some subgroups.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe effects of inspiratory muscle training on exercise capacity, dyspnea and respiratory functions in lung transplantation candidates: a randomized controlled trial.
To investigate whether inspiratory muscle training would contribute to the improvement of exercise capacity, dyspnea perception and respiratory functions in lung transplantation candidates. ⋯ A greater increase in exercise capacity was observed in the PR + IMT group. Our study showed that inspiratory muscle training improved exercise capacity even further and increased the benefits provided by pulmonary rehabilitation.
