To compare the deep infection rates after immediate versus staged open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) for pilon fractures. ⋯ Therapeutic Level III. See Instructions for Authors for a complete description of levels of evidence.
-
To compare complications and functional outcomes between supination adduction type II (SAD) injuries and torsional ankle injuries (TAI). ⋯ Prognostic Level III. See Instructions for Authors for a complete description of levels of evidence.
-
To evaluate the difference in the quality of fracture reduction between the sinus tarsi approach (STA) and extensile lateral approach (ELA) using postoperative Computed Tomography (CT) scans in displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures (DIACFs). ⋯ Therapeutic Level III. See Instructions for Authors for a complete description of levels of evidence.

To identify a group of ballistic tibia fractures, report the outcomes of these fractures, and compare them with both closed and open tibia fractures sustained by blunt mechanisms. We hypothesized that ballistic tibia fractures and blunt open fractures would have similar outcomes. ⋯ Prognostic Level III. See Instructions for Authors for a complete description of levels of evidence.

Assess the burden and co-occurrence of pain, depression, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among service members who sustained a major limb injury, and examine whether these conditions are associated with functional outcomes. ⋯ Prognostic Level III. See Instructions for Authors for a complete description of levels of evidence.
