Comparative StudyCombining Indocyanine Green and Tc99-nanocolloid does not increase the detection rate of sentinel lymph nodes in early stage cervical cancer compared to Indocyanine Green alone.
To investigate whether combining two independent tracers increases the SLN-detection rate in cervical cancer. ⋯ SLN detection rate was significantly higher using ICG compared with Tc99. ICG identified all patients with LNMs. Combining ICG and Tc99 did not improve the bilateral detection rate of SLNs.

The financial impact of an enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocol in an academic gynecologic oncology practice.
To determine the financial impact of an enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocol in gynecologic oncology patients. ⋯ Implementation of the ERAS protocol in gynecologic oncology patients does not lead to increased costs for the patient or hospital system. The decreased contribution margin is likely due to a reduction in per diem payments caused by the reduction in LOS. On a per-patient-day basis, contribution margin was the same for both groups ($2877 vs $2857). The reduction in LOS also created capacity for additional cases, the financial impact of which was not evaluated.

Precision prophylaxis: Identifying the optimal timing for risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy based on type of BRCA1 and BRCA2 cluster region mutations.
Current risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy (RRSO) guidelines for individuals with BRCA1/2 mutations do not account for risk variability due to BRCA1/2 cluster region mutations that are associated with varying risks for the development of breast and ovarian cancer. We assessed whether current recommendations are appropriate for individual patients considering mutation-specific risks. ⋯ BRCA1/2 cluster regions may provide more precise estimates of life expectancy in counselling and shared decision-making. The most appropriate timing for RRSO is a complex decision and must be individualized for each patient.

In vitro and in vivo activity of sacituzumab govitecan, an antibody-drug conjugate targeting trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (Trop-2) in uterine serous carcinoma.
Uterine serous carcinoma (USC) is an aggressive variant of endometrial cancer with poor prognosis. Sacituzumab govitecan (SG) is a novel antibody-drug-conjugate (ADC) targeting trophoblast cell-surface antigen 2 (Trop-2), a transmembrane-calcium-signal-transducer, to deliver SN-38, the active metabolite of irinotecan. The objective of this study was to evaluate the expression of Trop-2 in USC and the preclinical activity of SG against primary USC cell-lines and xenografts. ⋯ SG is remarkably active against USC overexpressing Trop-2 in vitro and in vivo. Our results combined with SG clinical responses recently reported against multiple chemotherapy resistant human tumors further support clinical development of SG in USC patients with advanced/recurrent disease.

Radiomic features of cervical cancer on T2-and diffusion-weighted MRI: Prognostic value in low-volume tumors suitable for trachelectomy.
Textural features extracted from MRI potentially provide prognostic information additional to volume for influencing surgical management of cervical cancer. ⋯ Textural features from ADC maps and T2-W images differ between high- and low-volume tumors and potentially predict recurrence in low-volume tumors.
