Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
Ocular safety of sildenafil citrate when administered chronically for pulmonary arterial hypertension: results from phase III, randomised, double masked, placebo controlled trial and open label extension.
To assess the ocular effects and safety profile of chronic sildenafil oral dosing in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. ⋯ Sildenafil dosing up to 80 mg three times daily is safe and well tolerated from an ocular perspective in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Daily chronic dosing in this patient population was not associated with visual change and had no detrimental effect on best corrected visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, colour vision, or visual field, or on slit lamp examinations, funduscopy, or intraocular pressure during the duration of this study.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Internet based vascular risk factor management for patients with clinically manifest vascular disease: randomised controlled trial.
To investigate whether an internet based, nurse led vascular risk factor management programme promoting self management on top of usual care is more effective than usual care alone in reducing vascular risk factors in patients with clinically manifest vascular disease. ⋯ An internet based, nurse led treatment programme on top of usual care for vascular risk factors had a small effect on lowering vascular risk and on lowering of some vascular risk factors in patients with vascular disease.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Comprehensive self management and routine monitoring in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients in general practice: randomised controlled trial.
To assess the long term effects of two different modes of disease management (comprehensive self management and routine monitoring) on quality of life (primary objective), frequency and patients' management of exacerbations, and self efficacy (secondary objectives) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in general practice. ⋯ Comprehensive self management or routine monitoring did not show long term benefits in terms of quality of life or self efficacy over usual care alone in COPD patients in general practice. Patients in the self management group seemed to be more capable of appropriately managing exacerbations than did those in the usual care group.

Review Meta Analysis
Cutaneous melanoma attributable to sunbed use: systematic review and meta-analysis.
To estimate the burden of melanoma resulting from sunbed use in western Europe. ⋯ Sunbed use is associated with a significant increase in risk of melanoma. This risk increases with number of sunbed sessions and with initial usage at a young age (<35 years). The cancerous damage associated with sunbed use is substantial and could be avoided by strict regulations.
