To report a case of type 2 Antley-Bixler syndrome (ABS). ⋯ Repair of the ambiguous genitalia in this patient was possible, but definitive inferences on the benefit of this intervention cannot be made without long-term follow-up.

To investigate intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM1) and angiotensinogen (AGT) gene polymorphisms, as related to atherosclerosis and endothelial dysfunction, in coronary slow flow (CSF). ⋯ This study showed that K469E polymorphisms of ICAM1 that play a role in atherosclerotic pathogenesis are related to CSF.

To analyse information about the errors made by diabetic and renal patients based on information provided by professionals (general practitioners, specialists, and nurses) and the patients themselves. ⋯ Patient errors were frequent because of communication failures and confusions. Diabetic patients had a higher chance of committing an error than renal patients. Patient education must include clear and personalized instructions for improving self-care and reducing risks when using medicines.

The aim of this study was to investigate cardiac abnormalities in Kuwaiti sickle cell disease (SCD) patients using markers such as tricuspid regurgitant jet velocity (TRJV), pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP), and the 6-minute walk (6MW) test and correlate these findings with clinical, hematological, and biochemical parameters. ⋯ Raised PASP was common in Kuwaiti SCD patients while raised TRJV was not.

To report a case of subtrochanteric femur fracture that led to intraoperative compartment syndrome in the well leg. ⋯ Obesity and prolonged surgery could have caused the acute compartment syndrome of the well leg in this patient.
