This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of apical periodontitis (AP) in patients with type II diabetes mellitus (DM) with either optimal glycemic control (OGC) or poor glycemic control (PGC) compared with nondiabetics using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). ⋯ The prevalence of AP and severe bone destruction in periapical tissues was significantly higher in the DM patients compared with the nondiabetic patients.

To present a case of relapsing and resistant Sweet's syndrome that developed during pregnancy together with an onset of Crohn's disease, showing complete resolution with the use of infliximab. ⋯ The "off-label" use of infliximab is beneficial for relapsing and resistant Sweet's syndrome.

We present a 17-year-old boy with an incidentally diagnosed left adrenal ganglioneuroma during the diagnostic workup of alopecia areata. ⋯ Further studies should reveal the relationship between alopecia areata and ganglioneuroma as well as the role of vitamin D in alopecia areata.

To investigate the oral health status and dental manifestations of children with a history of chronic liver disease (CLD) compared to healthy children. ⋯ Children with a history of CLD exhibited a high caries prevalence, high plaque scores, and more enamel defects compared to healthy subjects. Gingival overgrowth is less prevalent among pediatric liver transplant patients on tacrolimus therapy.

Gingival recession is one of the most common esthetic and functional concerns associated with periodontal tissues. Several techniques have been described to cover the exposed root surface. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of recession coverage using a coronally repositioned flap in conjunction with a bioresorbable collagen membrane. ⋯ Recession coverage with a coronally repositioned and bioresorbable collagen membrane demonstrated good results in terms of root coverage as well as increase in the width of keratinized tissue.
