Despite the importance of radiology in the diagnosis and management of patients, studies suggest that medical graduates exhibit a minimal level of radiology knowledge. This study aimed to assess the satisfaction of Kuwait's medical students with the radiology teaching and their confidence in their knowledge regarding basic radiological principles, as well as their views and suggestions for adequate teaching time and pattern of radiology teaching at the undergraduate level. ⋯ Radiology is an essential part of modern medicine. Adequate exposure to radiological techniques and adequate time to radiological teaching must be allocated to students during their undergraduate medical curriculum to improve the proper management of patients.

The UK government had intended to introduce a comprehensive Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in England by 2020. These EHRs would run across primary, secondary, and social care, linking data in a single digital platform. The objectives of this systematic review were to identify studies that compare EHR in terms of direct comparison between systems and to evaluate them using System and Software Quality Requirements and Evaluation (SQuaRE) ISO/IEC 25010. ⋯ The following number of studies looked at the various aspects of the SQuaRE, respectively - 19 studies: functional suitability, performance efficiency: 18 studies, compatibility: 12 studies, usability: 25 studies, reliability: 6 studies, security: 2 studies, maintainability: 16 studies, portability: 13 studies. Epic was the most studied EHR system and one of the most implemented systems in the US market and one of the top ten in the UK. It is difficult to assess which is the most advantageous EHR system when they are assessed by SQuaRE's 8 characteristics for software evaluation.

Establishing a pediatric COVID-19 registry in Kuwait (PCR-Q8) was deemed imperative during the pandemic to study children infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome-related coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) focusing on mode of presentation, therapeutic interventions, disease severity, and early outcomes. This manuscript describes the rapid establishment of the PCR-Q8 registry showcasing an infrastructure of the development process and presents the results of the pilot phase. ⋯ We anticipate the development of PCR-Q8 to be a stepping-stone for more in-depth investigation of SARS-CoV-2 infection in children in Kuwait and for the establishment of other registries.

Impact of Preoperative Neutrophil-Lymphocyte and Platelet-Lymphocyte Ratios on Long Term Survival in Patients with Operable Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has an extremely poor prognosis. The outcomes of patients with cancer are determined not only by tumor-related factors but also by systemic inflammatory response. The objective of the study was to identify whether the preoperative neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are associated with the prognosis of PDAC of the pancreas head after curative pancreatoduodenectomy. ⋯ NLR and PLR measurements cannot provide important prognostic results in patients with resectable PDAC.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the Quality of Life (QoL) of Kuwaiti patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), aged ≥45 years of both genders, and identifying factors associated with poor QoL. ⋯ Kuwaiti patients with T2DM aged ≥45 years reported an overall good level of QoL with higher scores in psychological and social relationships than physical and environmental domains of QoL. Health region, type of treatment, educational level, marital status, and BMI level were statistically significant predictors of poor QoL. More public health action is required to control the disease and improve the QoL.
