To investigate the efficacy of coronary stenting in patients with variant angina refractory to medical treatment. ⋯ The present study showed that coronary stenting for severe refractory coronary vasospasm was effective and without serious complications. It can be an alternative and viable option for some patients who are refractory to medical therapy and at a high risk of acute coronary syndrome recurrence.

Unusual presentation of Guillain-Barré syndrome following traumatic bone injuries: report of two cases.
To report two cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) which occurred following traumatic bone injuries. ⋯ These cases highlight the importance of considering GBS as a differential diagnosis when patients with traumatic bone injuries develop acute neuromuscular weakness. Early diagnosis and treatment may prevent morbidity and mortality.

To evaluate the level of empathy among medical students in Kuwait University Medical School and its association with sociodemographic factors, stress levels and personality. ⋯ Medical students in Kuwait University had low empathy level and this may be a cause for concern; as such we suggest a possible inclusion of emphasis on empathy in the curriculum.

The aim of the study was to investigate the behavior, beliefs and attitudes of Polish primary care physicians concerning the use of placebo interventions. ⋯ The use and prescription of placebo interventions seemed to be very common among Polish primary care physicians studied and they generally had positive attitudes towards their use and effectiveness.

To study the potential of chemically modified tetracycline-3 (COL-3), a potent matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitor, to protect against the development of paclitaxel-induced painful neuropathy and its immunomodulatory effects. ⋯ Our results indicate that the MMP inhibitor COL-3 protected against paclitaxel-induced thermal hyperalgesia and, thus, could be useful in the prevention of chemotherapy-induced painful neuropathy.
