To assess the knowledge, attitudes and practices of caregivers in Kuwait in relation to the oral health of preschool children. ⋯ Our study showed that caregivers had weak knowledge and practice in relation to the oral health of preschool children. Mothers and caregivers with higher education had better knowledge and practices. Education and attitude appeared to be favorable indicators of the caregivers' practices with regard to the oral health of their preschool children.

To report a rare complication of homocystinuria in a child and highlight the association of homocystinuria with lower gastrointestinal bleeding and intestinal thrombosis. ⋯ This case showed the need to sustain a high index of suspicion of thromboembolism in a patient with homocystinuria and lower gastrointestinal bleeding and the importance of compliance with treatment to avoid vascular complications.

Oral health-related quality of life among parents and teachers of disabled schoolchildren in Kuwait.
The objective of this study was to assess the oral health-related quality of life between the parents and the teachers of disabled schoolchildren in Kuwait. ⋯ There seemed to be no difference in the impact of oral health on the quality of life between the parents and the teachers of disabled schoolchildren. Oral health had a relatively weak impact on the quality of life of these adults.

The objectives of this descriptive study were to investigate the attitudes and perceptions of physical therapists regarding research, the intention to engage in research and the barriers to participating in research amongst physical therapists in the State of Kuwait. ⋯ Physical therapists in Kuwait had a positive attitude towards the application of research findings to their practice. However, they were not confident in initiating research due to work overload and lack of time as well as limited access to library resources. Therefore, we recommend stimulation to engage in research activities to be a requirement and to develop a system to improve the skills and knowledge of doing research.

To study the potential of chemically modified tetracycline-3 (COL-3), a potent matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitor, to protect against the development of paclitaxel-induced painful neuropathy and its immunomodulatory effects. ⋯ Our results indicate that the MMP inhibitor COL-3 protected against paclitaxel-induced thermal hyperalgesia and, thus, could be useful in the prevention of chemotherapy-induced painful neuropathy.
