Objectives: To explore psychological problems (Anxiety, Depression and Stress) in general population during Covid-19 pandemic. To find predictive effects of cognitive emotion regulation on psychological problems. Methodology: Convenient sampling technique was used to obtain the sample of 500 participants (Male = 239, Female = 261). ⋯ Among these participants, 48% (N = 242) were experiencing normal level of all these targeted psychological problems while remaining 52% (N = 258) respondents have mild to very severe level of all these disorders. Furthermore, findings of linear regression analysis illustrated that cognitive emotion regulation significantly predicts psychological problems [R2=.216; F = 51.223, p < .01] and 21% variation in psychological problems is due to cognitive emotion regulation. Conclusion: This study recommended that policy makers must develop and implement some necessary programmes to prevent and cure people from devastating psychological and mental health consequences of covid-19 on priority basis.

Increased left ventricular mass (LVM) predicts cardiovascular events and mortality. The objective of this study was to determine whether early-life exposures to body mass index (BMI) and systolic blood pressure (SPB) affects the left ventricular structure in adulthood. ⋯ High BMI in early-life confers a sustained effect on LVM and the risk for eccentric hypertrophy independently of adulthood risk factors. KEY MESSAGES Excess in BMI in early-life has an independent effect on LVM and the risk of developing eccentric hypertrophy regardless of overweight status in adulthood. Systolic blood pressure levels in early-life did not have an independent effect on LVM or LV remodeling. The clinical implication of this study is that primary prevention of obesity in early-life may prevent the development of high LVM and eccentric hypertrophy.

The association between frailty and specialized healthcare utilization is not well studied. We, therefore, examined the utilization of specialized healthcare services among frail Finnish older adults. ⋯ Frailty increases the use of most specialized healthcare services. Preventative interventions against frailty are needed to decrease the burden on specialized healthcare systems.KEY MESSAGEFrailty is associated with the utilization of most specialized healthcare services, the most expensive part of the healthcare in most high-income countries. The association of frailty with inpatient care is particularly strong.Preventative interventions against frailty are needed to decrease the burden on specialized healthcare systems.

Impact of fibrin glue versus suture closure on double-headed pterygia in Asian eyes - a 7-year study in a tertiary institution.
To compare the recurrence rate and outcomes of double-headed pterygia using fibrin glue versus suture closure of conjunctival autograft. ⋯ Low recurrence rates and good postoperative visual outcomes can be achieved with the split conjunctival autograft technique. Our study suggests that fibrin glue has an additional benefit over the use of sutures in the management of these complex cases.

IgA vasculitis (IgAV) is a common small vessel vasculitis in children. Gastrointestinal perforation (GP) rarely presents as a complication of IgAV and is not well characterized. This study is aimed to investigate the clinical features, diagnosis, and risk factors of GP in children with IgAV. ⋯ GP children accounted for 0.10% of the total IgAV cases. The risk of GP is elevated in IgAV patients who has gastrointestinal symptoms and/or other symptoms such as hematochezia, renal damage, a prolonged abdominal pain (>7 days), administration of methylprednisolone (>2 mg/kg). Abdominal CT is highly recommended for the early detection of GP in IgAV patients.Key messagesGastrointestinal perforation (GP) rarely presents as a complication of IgAV and is not well characterized.11 out of 10,791 children with IgAV developed GP, accounting for 0.10% of the total number of cases.Abdominal CT is highly recommended for the early detection of GP in IgAV patients.
