Background: Complicated urinary tract infections are a significant cause of morbidity, hospitalization, and elevated hospital costs associated with kidney transplantations. The treatment of complicated urinary tract infections is very challenging, due to varying severities of infection and lower cure rates. The available drug options for treating these infections are limited, each with different mechanisms of action, efficacy, and safety profiles, making drug selection more difficult for healthcare professionals. ⋯ The safety profiles of the drugs indicated that almost all drugs caused gastrointestinal symptoms, with imipenem-relebactam and colistin-imipenem combinations having the most serious adverse events. Cefiderocol had a low magnitude of adverse events, with most side effects being mild gastrointestinal symptoms. Conclusion: The study concludes that appropriate drug selection and treatment adherence are crucial for preventing complicated urinary tract infections and improving health outcomes.

Utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) in chatbots, especially for chronic diseases, has become increasingly prevalent. These AI-powered chatbots serve as crucial tools for enhancing patient communication, addressing the rising prevalence of chronic conditions, and meeting the growing demand for supportive healthcare applications. However, there is a notable gap in comprehensive reviews evaluating the impact of AI-powered chatbot interventions in healthcare within academic literature. This study aimed to assess user satisfaction, intervention efficacy, and the specific characteristics and AI architectures of chatbot systems designed for chronic diseases. ⋯ The reviewed studies suggest promising acceptance of AI-powered chatbots for self-managing chronic conditions. However, limited evidence on their efficacy due to insufficient technical documentation calls for future studies to provide detailed descriptions and prioritize patient safety. These chatbots employ natural language processing and multimodal interaction. Subsequent research should focus on evidence-based evaluations, facilitating comparisons across diverse chronic health conditions.

Norovirus is the leading cause of sporadic viral gastroenteritis cases and outbreaks. Gut microbiota plays a key role in maintaining immune homeostasis. We aimed to investigate the composition and functional effects of gut microbiota in children infected with norovirus. ⋯ Norovirus infection may lead to dysregulation of the gut microbiome in children.

Curiosity is a fundamental human trait that drives learning and exploration. However, research on curiosity has received little attention in the medical field, despite its potential to enhance knowledge acquisition, work performance, and psychosocial well-being. This study aimed to address part of this gap by investigating physicians' perspectives on their personal experiences with curiosity and its role in their professional practice and medical training. ⋯ This study represents the first attempt to explore physicians' perspectives on curiosity in medicine. The findings highlight the potential importance of curiosity in shaping medical professionalism and improving patient care. However, its pursuit is hampered by the challenging working conditions faced by doctors, suggesting a need for enhanced support and cultivation.
