Due to the rising prevalence of alcohol use disorders among young adults, the need for effective and accessible interventions has become increasingly imperative. In acknowledgment of this issue, we developed a novel intervention known as contingency management plus problem solving therapy (CM-PST). The aim of the current study was to gain insight into the perspectives on the effectiveness of the newly developed CM-PST using focus group discussion among young adults who consume alcohol regularly. ⋯ The results of this study contribute to the growing body of literature on innovative intervention approaches for young adults facing alcohol use issues. The findings shed light on the acceptability and perceived effectiveness of the CM-PST intervention from the perspective of the target population.

The endoscopic Hill classification of the gastroesophageal flap valve (GEFV) is of great importance for understanding the functional status of the esophagogastric junction (EGJ). Deep learning (DL) methods have been extensively employed in the area of digestive endoscopy. To improve the efficiency and accuracy of the endoscopist's Hill classification and assist in incorporating it into routine endoscopy reports and GERD assessment examinations, this study first employed DL to establish a four-category model based on the Hill classification. ⋯ The DL model combined with the attention mechanism module in this paper demonstrated outstanding classification performance based on the Hill grading and has great potential for improving the accuracy of the Hill classification by endoscopists.

The identification of spinal tuberculosis subphenotypes is an integral component of precision medicine. However, we lack proper study models to identify subphenotypes in patients with spinal tuberculosis. Here we identified possible subphenotypes of spinal tuberculosis and compared their clinical results. ⋯ K-means clustering analysis based on conventional available clinical data can rapidly identify two subtypes of spinal tuberculosis with different clinical results. We believe this finding will help clinicians to rapidly and easily identify the subtypes of spinal tuberculosis at the bedside and become the cornerstone of individualized treatment strategies.

To estimate healthcare resource use and direct healthcare costs of Transthyretin Amyloid Cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) in Sweden over 12 months across severity stages as defined by the New York Heart Association (NYHA). Secondary to investigate the current diagnostic trajectory for patients with ATTR-CM in Sweden. ⋯ Advanced ATTR-CM stages are associated with significant healthcare costs, as patients more often require resource-intensive inpatient care. The current diagnostic trajectory of ATTR-CM in this study was characterized by a diagnostic delay of several years.

Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has a significant impact on sleep quality. However, the effects on sleep quality in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era remain unclear, and there is a lack of a screening tool for Chinese older adults. This study aimed to understand the prevalence of poor sleep quality and determine sensitive variables to develop an effective prediction model for screening sleep problems during infectious diseases outbreaks. ⋯ This nomogram, based on twelve-variable, could potentially serve as a practical and reliable tool for early identification of poor sleep quality among older adults during the post-pandemic period.
