Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Effect of on-demand vs continuous prescription of proton pump inhibitors on symptom burden and quality of life: results of a real-world randomized controlled trial in primary care patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease.
This study aimed to assess the impact of on-demand versus continuous prescribing of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) on symptom burden and health-related quality of life in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) presenting to primary care. ⋯ In real-world settings, both continuous and on-demand PPI prescriptions resulted in similar increases in PPI consumption with no difference in treatment effects. Achieving an adequate PPI dose to alleviate reflux symptom burden improves quality of life in GERD patients. EudraCT number 2014-001314-25.

Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is the most widespread and fatal pulmonary complication of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Existing knowledge on the prevalence and risk factors of rheumatoid arthritis-associated interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD) is inconclusive. Therefore, we designed this review to address this gap. ⋯ The pooled prevalence of RA-ILD in our study was approximately 18.7%. Furthermore, we identified 13 risk factors for RA-ILD, including male sex, older age, having a smoking history, pulmonary comorbidities, older age of RA onset, longer RA duration, positive RF, positive ACPA, higher ESR, moderate and high DAS28 (≥3.2), rheumatoid nodules, LEF use and steroid use. Additionally, biological agents use was a protective factor.

This study to evaluate the effects of different training modalities on blood lipids in type II diabetic patients by Network Meta-analysis, and provide a relevant basis for patients to develop exercise prescriptions to regulate blood lipids. ⋯ CTF is more effective in improving TC, TG and LDL levels, while RT is most effective in improving HDL levels.

To quantitatively evaluate the effect of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) pretreatment on outcomes of IVF or ICSI in women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) based on the existing randomized controlled trials (RCTs). ⋯ These findings suggested that CoQ10 pretreatment is an effective intervention in improving IVF/ICSI outcomes for women with DOR. Still, this meta-analysis included relatively limited sample sizes with poor descriptions of their methodologies. Rigorously conducted trials are needed in the future.

Meta Analysis
Psychotherapeutic and pharmacological agents for post-traumatic stress disorder with sleep disorder: network meta-analysis.
The current guidelines and canonical norms of diagnosis or treatment for Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with sleep disorder are still conflicting and have not yet reached a consensus. This study aimed to unravel the most effective countermeasures between two categories (psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy) put forward by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry (WFSBP) respectively to treat PTSD individuals co-exist with sleep disorders. ⋯ CRD42023415240.
