Chronic migraine (CM) causes great disability and affects an individual's quality of life. OnabotulinumtoxinA (OBT-A, Botox®) was the first prophylactic treatment specifically indicated for CM. The aim of this study was to describe the experiences of women with CM treated with OBT-A. ⋯ Qualitative research offers insight into how patients with CM experience treatment with OBT-A. Our results highlight some relevant aspects that should be considered when providing OBT-A treatment.

This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of a non-invasive methylation gene test in clinical colorectal tumour screening. ⋯ The mSDC2 test has a higher PPV in patients with colorectal cancer and colorectal adenoma (AD), especially in high-risk groups over 50 years of age, and may help in the early diagnosis of colorectal tumours in the future.

The aim of this current study was to identify the prevalence and risk factors of H. pylori infection in the low-risk area of gastric cancer in China, and evaluate the value of different gastric cancer screening methods. ⋯ In a low-risk area of gastric cancer in China, the infection rate of H. pylori is relatively low. Low income, loss of appetite, high PG II, and high G-17 were risk factors for H. pylori infection, while alcohol consumption was a protective factor. Moreover, the new gastric cancer screening method better predicted low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia than the ABC method and the new ABC method.

Adult glioma progresses rapidly and has a poor clinical outcome. The focal adhesion protein Kindlin-3 (encoded by the FERMT3 gene) participates in tumor development, drug resistance, and progression. However, the relationship between Kindlin-3 and glioma prognosis or immune microenvironment is poorly understood. ⋯ The findings of this study provide a new perspective on the role of Kindlin-3 in glioma and may have a significant impact on the discovery of novel biomarkers and targeting of GAMs in the future.

An increasing number of α-hemoglobin (Hb) variants is causing various clinical symptoms; therefore, accurate identification of these Hb variants is important. ⋯ Hb Doi-Saket emphasizes a great diversity present in α-globin gene. The mutation in this family from Thailand was linked to -α3.7 and caused mild microcytosis in the carriers. The combination of this variant with deletions in α genes might cause a severe clinical phenotype. Different methods of separation can provide useful information in diagnosis, and a complete molecular approach is needed for confirmation before considering patient management.
