Many publications have reported that acute COVID-19 infection can cause autonomic dysfunction. In this series, we described seven patients who had recurrent fever after acute COVID-19 infection, and the possible pathophysiological basis is autonomic dysfunction. ⋯ The COVID-19 infection can lead to autonomic dysfunction, which manifests not only as tachycardia and blood pressure abnormalities, but may also be the pathophysiological mechanism underlying recurrent fever in post-COVID cases.

Although the incidence and case fatality (CF) of acute myocardial ischaemic syndrome (AMIS) have declined in recent decades, some studies have suggested a potential stagnation in this decline. We examined if a similar development in AMIS trends can be observed in Finland from 1996 to 2021 among persons aged 35-74 years. ⋯ AMIS mortality declined in all groups, but the decline in AMIS incidence slowed down and even stopped in women. Incidence was unchanged during the study period in women aged 35-54 years. These results emphasize the need for further efforts in prevention of cardiovascular disease, particularly in young and middle-aged women.

Web application for assisting non-dermatology physicians in learning and managing patients with common cutaneous adverse drug reactions: a multicenter randomized controlled trial.
Cutaneous adverse drug reactions (CADRs) remain a challenge for non-dermatologists. Medical-related applications to assist in learning about and managing patients with CADRs are scarce. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a web application for non-dermatologists in managing CADRs by comparing the knowledge scores of users and non-users. ⋯ The web application for CADRs is an effective and convenient tool for assisting non-dermatologist physicians in learning and providing initial management with a high level of satisfaction. However, prospective long-term randomized controlled studies are required to confirm the efficacy of this tool.

Minichromosome maintenance complex component 3 (MCM3) plays a key role in various tumours. However, it remains largely unknown what the specific role and clinical significance of MCM3 in pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD) are. ⋯ MCM3 is likely to be a critical element in promoting the initiation and growth of PAAD. Flavopiridol may exert its anti-PAAD effect through the interaction between MCM3, classic CDK1 targets in the cell cycle checkpoint and p53 pathway as well as related molecules in other pathways.

At the forefront is the remarkable evolution that has revolutionized how medical knowledge is accessed, disseminated, and integrated into pedagogical practices. ⋯ This review includes the multifaceted applications of the metaverse in medical education, outlining both its benefits and challenges. Through insightful case studies and examples, it highlights the innovative potential of the metaverse as a platform for immersive learning experiences. Moreover, the review addresses the role of emerging technologies in shaping the post-pandemic future of medical education, ultimately culminating in a series of recommendations tailored for medical institutions aiming to successfully capitalize on revolutionary changes.
