Prediabetes is prevalent in Saudi Arabia and globally. It is associated with adverse health outcomes and complications. Consequently, this study aimed to determine the risk factors associated with developing prediabetes in Saudi Arabia. ⋯ The study showed that several risk factors are associated with the development of prediabetes in the Saudi population. Addressing these factors can help prevent prediabetes, and consequently, its burden and further progression to diabetes.

There is increasing evidence that gender dysphoria (GD) is more prevalent in the Klinefelter Syndrome (KS) population than in males in the general population; however, the exact incidence is uncertain. The aim of this study was to further explore the prevalence of gender-related issues, the role that physical characteristics play in gender identity, and the issues surrounding Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) in KS. ⋯ These results indicate that a significant proportion of KS patients do not fully identify with the male gender and are unhappy living as the sex on their birth certificate. Although TRT worked for most, its use should be discussed carefully with those with gender identity concerns.

In this study, the chemical properties of Ganoderma applanatum polysaccharides (GAP) were systematically investigated, followed by a comprehensive analysis of their antitumor and antioxidant capabilities. ⋯ These results substantiate the potential of GAPs as viable and effective antitumor agents, additionally suggesting their utility as functional foods endowed with antioxidant attributes.

The impact of transcatheter aortic valve replacement on changes of coronary computed tomography-derived fractional flow reserve.
The effect of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) on changes of computed tomography-derived fractional flow reserve (CT-FFR) values was controversial. Thus, we aimed to identify the impact of TAVR on changes of CT-FFR values, plaque characteristics, and the associated clinical impact. ⋯ Our report suggested that TAVR did not significantly affect coronary CT-FFR measurements and plaque characteristics in the perioperative period, and furthermore, the patients' cardiac function showed gradual improvement in the short-term following discharge.

Investigation of explainable deep learning methods for graph neural networks to predict HIV infections with social network information and performing domain adaptation to evaluate model transferability across different datasets. ⋯ GAT models can be used to address the data sparsity issue in HIV study populations. They are powerful tools for predicting individual risk of HIV that can be further explored for better understanding of HIV transmission.
