The movement of the barbell has been detected as success factor for the snatch and the clean and jerk events. As the barbell's movement has been shown to be related to the athlete's body movement, we hypothesized that the latter could be a success factor also for the back squat (BS) event. Hence, this study aimed to investigate postural control during the execution of the BS at different load intensities in powerlifters and weightlifters. ⋯ These results suggest that powerlifters and weightlifters adopt different postural control strategies depending on the load intensity when performing the BS. Our findings showed that higher effort could affect postural control during the BS. Thus, postural control could be considered a success factor for the BS.

Literature on the safety of remdesivir in hospitalized COVID-19 patients with severe renal impairment is limited. We aimed to investigate the safety and effectiveness of remdesivir in this population. ⋯ Hospitalized COVID-19 patients receiving remdesivir with severe renal impairment had an increased risk of AKI, hospital mortality, and COVID-19 disease progression compared to patients without severe renal impairment.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients with pneumonia should receive the guidance of initial risk stratification and early warning as soon as possible. Whether the prehospital Pandemic Respiratory Infection Emergency System Triage (PRIEST) score can accurately predict the short-term prognosis of them remains unknown. Accordingly, we aimed to assess the performance of prehospital PRIEST in predicting the 30-day mortality of patients. ⋯ The PRIEST can accurately, quickly, and conveniently predict the 30-day mortality of COVID-19 patients with pneumonia in the prehospital phase and can guide their initial risk stratification and treatment.

Due to its rarity, it is challenging to predict the survival of patients with synchronous multiple primary esophageal squamous carcinomas (SMPESCs). We aimed to construct nomograms to predict survival outcomes and help to make therapeutic strategy for patients with SMPESCs. ⋯ These nomograms could effectively predict the 1-year, 3-year and 5-year survival outcomes of patients with SMPESCs. Furthermore, adjuvant therapy has the potential to improve OS in patients with lymph node metastasis.

Transformed lymphoma occurs when indolent lymphoma transforms into more aggressive lymphoma usually associated with poor prognosis. ⋯ Whole-exome sequencing and copy-number analysis revealed that tMZL derives from the divergent evolution of an ancestral common progenitor clone (CPC). Collectively, this study provides clinicopathological characteristics of three common types of transformed lymphomas and the genetic profile of tMZL with diagnostic and therapeutic implications.
