Digital health services are rapidly gaining acceptance in healthcare systems. Dermatology as an image-centric specialty is particularly well suited for telemedical services. However, dermatology patients' demands of electronic services remain largely unexplored. ⋯ Taken together, interest in electronic health services is high in dermatology patients. Our data suggest that readily understandable electronic services such as online-arranged appointments and electronic prescriptions are of higher interest to patients than the current type of online consultations. Therefore, the full potential of teledermatology still remains to be tapped by newer, more attractive forms of services closely adapted to patients' demands.

This study was designed to investigate the applicability of carbomer 940 hydrogel on skin-burn wounds by focusing on its effects on the zone of stasis. ⋯ Our study has shown that carbomer 940 hydrogel is a nontoxic biomaterial, which improved tissue perfusion and decreased the area of necrotic tissue in burn wounds. Application of this biomaterial in treatment of burn injuries deserves further studies.

Population-based data on the clinical correlates and prognostic value of the pattern of metastases among patients with cutaneous melanoma are needed. ⋯ The prognosis of metastatic cutaneous melanoma patients differs considerably according to the site of distant metastases. Further prospective studies are required to evaluate the role of local treatment in the management of metastatic disease.

Atopic dermatitis, a chronic inflammatory disease, has a lifetime prevalence of 10-20%. Atopic dermatitis reduces quality of life, primarily due to pruritus. Interleukin-31 and its target receptor are newly discovered entities that are involved in pruritus. ⋯ Interleukin-31 plays an important role in atopic dermatitis and alopecia. Inhibiting this pathway may provide an alternative to antihistamines for the pruritus of atopic dermatitis.
