Seroconversion in patients with cancer and oncology health care workers infected by SARS-CoV-2.
Patients with cancer have high risk for severe complications and poor outcome to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)-related disease [coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)]. Almost all subjects with COVID-19 develop anti-SARS-CoV-2 immunoglobulin G (IgG) within 3 weeks after infection. No data are available on the seroconversion rates of cancer patients and COVID-19. ⋯ Our data indicate that SARS-CoV-2-specific IgG antibody detection do not differ between cancer patients and healthy subjects.

Trophoblast cell-surface antigen-2 (Trop-2) is expressed in epithelial cancers, including hormone receptor-positive (HR+) metastatic breast cancer (mBC). Sacituzumab govitecan (SG; Trodelvy®) is an antibody-drug conjugate composed of a humanized anti-Trop-2 monoclonal antibody coupled to SN-38 at a high drug-to-antibody ratio via a unique hydrolyzable linker that delivers SN-38 intracellularly and in the tumor microenvironment. SG was granted accelerated FDA approval for metastatic triple-negative BC treatment in April 2020. ⋯ SG shows encouraging activity in patients with pretreated HR+/HER2- mBC and a predictable, manageable safety profile. Further evaluation in a randomized phase III trial (TROPiCS-02) is ongoing (NCT03901339).

Oral THC:CBD cannabis extract for refractory chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: a randomised, placebo-controlled, phase II crossover trial.
This multicentre, randomised, double-blinded, placebo-controlled, phase II/III trial aimed to evaluate an oral THC:CBD (tetrahydrocannabinol:cannabidiol) cannabis extract for prevention of refractory chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). Here we report the phase II component results. ⋯ The addition of oral THC:CBD to standard antiemetics was associated with less nausea and vomiting but additional side-effects. Most participants preferred THC:CBD to placebo. Based on these promising results, we plan to recruit an additional 170 participants to complete accrual for the definitive, phase III, parallel group analysis.

Osimertinib versus platinum-pemetrexed for patients with EGFR T790M advanced NSCLC and progression on a prior EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitor: AURA3 overall survival analysis.
In AURA3 (NCT02151981), osimertinib, a third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), significantly prolonged progression-free survival and improved response in patients with EGFR T790M advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and progression on prior EGFR-TKI treatment. We report the final AURA3 overall survival (OS) analysis. ⋯ ClinicalTrials.gov NCT02151981; https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02151981.
