Comparative StudyComparison of tunnel locations of double bundle ACL reconstruction using the conventional transtibial technique with anatomic tunnel locations using a 3D CT model.
The purposes of this study were: (1) to compare tunnel locations using the conventional transtibial technique with reference data, and (2) to identify factors that make it difficult to position the femoral tunnel correctly or contribute to breakage of the bone bridge between the two tibial tunnels. ⋯ It seems that conventional transtibial drilling technique used during double bundle ACL reconstruction does not reproduce correct tunnel locations compared with reference data. This problem was found to be related to the bony geometry of the medial wall of the lateral femoral condyle or the bone bridge between the two tibial tunnels. Our results indicate that RBL should be determined by pre-operative CT or plain lateral radiography, and that transtibial single bundle reconstruction or double bundle reconstruction using other methods should be attempted when the RBL exceeds 1.14.

One-stage posterior transforaminal lumbar debridement, 360° interbody fusion, and posterior instrumentation in treating lumbosacral spinal tuberculosis.
Retrospective analysis of the clinical study efficacy and feasibility of one-stage posterior transforaminal lumbar debridement, 360° interbody fusion, and posterior instrumentation in treating lumbosacral spinal tuberculosis. ⋯ With effective and standard anti-TB chemotherapy, one-stage posterior transforaminal lumbar debridement, 360° interbody fusion, and posterior instrumentation for lumbosacral tuberculosis can effectively relieve pain symptoms, improve neurological function, and reconstruct the spinal stability.

Midterm results after modified Epping procedure for trapeziometacarpal osteoarthritis.
Various surgical procedures have been proposed for the treatment of trapeziometacarpal joint (TMJ) osteoarthritis. Despite an overall satisfactory outcome in most cases, some patients complain about inadequate performance at work, due to instability of the TMJ. We present a cross-sectional study of patients with TMJ arthritis who underwent a modified Epping procedure for increased TMJ stability. ⋯ The great majority of patients who underwent this novel procedure benefited from an unaffected or improved work performance, due to good TMJ stability combined with adequate motion for ADL. Less favorable results were seen in patients with accompanying hand pathologies.

Complications following palmar plate fixation of distal radius fractures: a review of 665 cases.
Palmar plate fixation of unstable distal radial fractures is quickly becoming the standard treatment for this common injury. The literature reporting complications consists mainly of isolated case reports or small case series. ⋯ Palmar plate fixation of distal radius fractures is a safe and effective procedure. Nevertheless, complications necessitating a second intervention are relatively common. A proportion of these complications is iatrogenic and can be avoided by improving the surgical technique.

Corrective osteotomy of the distal radius following failed internal fixation.
The purpose of this study was to quantify the clinical and radiographic outcomes after corrective osteotomy for malunions of the distal radius following failed internal fixation. ⋯ The results of this study suggest that the operative correction of a distal radius malunion following an unsuccessful internal fixation can be achieved with outcomes comparable to those reported after initial nonoperative treatment.
