The impact of reducing the femoral stem length in total hip arthroplasty during gait.
The length of the femoral stem in total hip arthroplasty (THA) is a practical consideration to prevent gait impairment. The aim of this study was to determine if reducing the femoral stem length in THA would lead to impaired gait biomechanics. ⋯ By testing a range of practical walking activities, no lower limb loading differences can be observed by reducing the femoral stem length. A shorter stem demonstrates equivalence in preference during gait when compared to a reputable conventional stem in total hip arthroplasty.

Pros and cons of navigated versus conventional total knee arthroplasty-a retrospective analysis of over 2400 patients.
Because of the ongoing discussion of imageless navigation in total knee arthroplasty (TKA), its advantages and disadvantages were evaluated in a large patient cohort. ⋯ III. Retrospective cohort study.

Revision osteosynthesis after primary treatment of atypical ulnar fractures associated with bisphosphonate usage - Nonunion after ordinary open reduction and internal fixation.
We performed revision surgeries to treat nonunion of bisphosphonate-associated ulnar fractures that had originally been treated, after misdiagnosis, using the typical open reduction/internal fixation (ORIF). ⋯ Therapeutic level IV.

Meta AnalysisWound closure position in total knee arthroplasty: flexion versus extension-a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is one of the most commonly used procedures in orthopedics. However, whether different would closure positions affect the clinical outcomes after TKA remains controversial. We conducted a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCT) to assess the effect of wound closure position on clinical TKA outcomes. ⋯ Level II.

Although the coracoid process seems to play an important anatomical role, there are few reports concerning fracture nonunion of the coracoid process (CN) and its disorders. Therefore, there is no widely accepted standard for the treatment of CN. ⋯ V.
