ReviewTreatment of coracoid process fractures: a systematic review.
The coracoid process is a small hook-shaped feature on the scapula and a key structure of the superior shoulder suspensory complex (SSSC). Fractures of the coracoid are rare. Therefore, no consensus exists regarding treatment of coracoid process fractures. Systematically review indications, outcomes and complications of traumatic coracoid process fractures in adults, and to provide a treatment algorithm. ⋯ Based on moderate quality studies, surgical treatment may be considered in Ogawa type I fractures with multiple disruptions of the SSSC. A conservative treatment seems sufficient in other fracture types.

Review Case ReportsTreatment for postoperative infection of pathological femoral fracture after radiotherapy: two case reports and review of the literature.
Radiation-induced pathological fractures show high nonunion and infection rates. Successful treatment of postoperative infections of these fractures without limb amputation is extremely rare. ⋯ Our treatment is effective for controlling postoperative infection of radiation-induced pathological fracture.

Meta AnalysisComparative diagnostic accuracy of respective nuclear imaging for suspected fracture-related infection: a systematic review and Bayesian network meta-analysis.
The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of available nuclear imaging modalities in the diagnosis of suspected fracture-related infection (FRI). ⋯ Bone scintigraphy is a highly sensitive nuclear imaging technique but lacks the specificity needed to unequivocally differentiate among various conditions suspected to be FRI. Leukocyte scintigraphy, 18F-FDG PET/CT and PET all present good satisfactory accuracy for the diagnosis of FRI, but their costs should be further reduced to promote their wide application.

Magnetically controlled growing rods in early onset scoliosis: radiological results, outcome, and complications in a series of 22 patients.
Magnetically controlled growing rods (MCGR) for the surgical treatment of early onset scoliosis (EOS) allow non-invasive outpatient based distractions during spinal growth. The purpose of this study is to present the results of a single center case series of 22 patients, evaluate the effect of MCGR treatment on the development of spino-pelvic parameters during growth, and report initial outcomes after end of treatment. ⋯ MCGR treatment is able to control deformity progression. Complication rate was 54.5%. Sagittal balance was not altered and treatment does not seem to have a negative impact on the development of spino-pelvic parameters during growth. Optimal end of treatment for the individual patient still has to be defined.

Multicenter StudyIncidence and severity of electric scooter related injuries after introduction of an urban rental programme in Vienna: a retrospective multicentre study.
Electric scooters (e-scooters) are an emerging way of mobility in cities around the world. Despite quickly rising numbers of e-scooters, limited studies report on incidence and severity of e-scooter-associated injuries. The aim of our study was to report on these injuries and identify potential protective measures to ultimately decrease e-scooter-associated morbidity. ⋯ The popularity of rideshare e-scooters across cities worldwide seems to be on the rise, so are e-scooter-associated injuries. These injuries should be considered high-energy trauma affecting primarily head and upper extremity; indeed, 17.7% sustained major head injuries. Therefore, the mandatory use of a helmet seems to be adequate to decrease head injury-associated morbidity. Ultimately, given the remarkably high rates of nighttime injuries, an e-scooter ban during night could further cut injury numbers in half.
