Femoral morphology affects postoperative alignment of the lower extremities in hybrid closed-wedge high tibial osteotomy.
This study aimed to determine correction error predictors of lower extremitiy alignment after hybrid closed-wedge high tibial osteotomy (HCWHTO). ⋯ Preoperative mLDFA is significantly associated with postoperative alignment in HCWHTO. While postoperative MPTA is important, disregarding the preoperative mLDFA may bears a high risk of malcorrection. Varus alignment of the knee with larger mLDFA may be an indication for not only HCWHTO, but also for distal femoral osteotomy.

Reverse total shoulder arthroplasty in patients with type B2, B3, and type C glenoids: comparable clinical outcome to patients without compromised glenoid bone stock-a matched pair analysis.
Primarily posterior bone deficient (dysplastic) (Walch type C) or secondarily eroded (Walch type B2 or B3) glenoids represent a surgical challenge for shoulder arthroplasty. Due to the posteriorly static decentered head, reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) is often considered as the treatment of choice. The purpose of this study is to report the clinical and radiographic outcomes, complications and reoperations of RTSA for posteriorly deficient glenoids. ⋯ Level III: case-control study.

Inter-rater agreement in pPOSSUM scores of geriatric trauma patients: a prospective evaluation.
Risk prediction models are widely used in the perioperative setting to identify high-risk patients who may benefit from additional care and to aid clinical decision-making. pPOSSUM is such a prediction model, however, little is known about the inter-rater agreement when scoring subjective parameters. This study assessed the inter-rater agreement between clinicians of different specialties and work-level when scoring 30 clinical case reports of geriatric hip fracture patients with pPOSSUM. ⋯ III.

Constraint in complex primary total knee arthroplasty: rotating hinge versus condylar constrained implants.
Condylar constrained knee arthroplasties (CCKAs) and rotating hinge knee arthroplasties (RHKAs) achieved good outcomes in complex primary total knee arthroplasties (TKAs); however, long-term comparative studies are few. Using an arthroplasty registry, we sought to assess and compare in CCKAs and RHKAs: (1) the intra-operative rates of complications, (2) the survival rates, (3) the reasons for revision, and (4) the adjusted hazard ratios for failure. ⋯ IV, Therapeutic study.

Intermediate to long-term clinical outcomes and survival analysis of the Salto Mobile Bearing total ankle prothesis.
Osteoarthritis of the ankle is a major burden to affected patients. While tibio-talar arthrodesis has been the gold-standard regarding the treatment of osteoarthritis of the ankle joint for many years, at present total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) provides appealing clinical outcomes and is continually gaining popularity. The aim of this study was to evaluate the intermediate- to long-term clinical outcome including the survival rate of Salto Mobile Bearing TAA (Tonier SA, Saint Ismier, France). ⋯ This study endorses the previously reported appealing intermediate- to long-term outcomes of the Salto Mobile Bearing TAA. There was a significant increase in ROM and AOFAS score as well as decent implant survival at final FU.
