Defining the iliac wing osseous fixation pathways: anatomy and implant constriction points.
Insertion of iliac wing implants requires understanding of the curvilinear shape of the ilium. This study serves to quantitatively identify the area of iliac inner-outer table convergence (IOTC), characterize the iliac wing osseous corridor, and define the gluteal pillar osseous corridor. ⋯ This study quantitatively assesses the dimensions of the IOTC, the iliac crest osseous corridor, and the gluteal pillar. Overall, our findings provide improved understanding of the limits for implant use in the iliac wing as well as better appreciation of the complex osteology of the ilium. This will help surgeons to identify safe areas for implant placement and avoid inadvertent cortical penetration.

Randomized Controlled TrialAre cementation quality and clinical outcomes affected by the use of tourniquet in primary total knee arthroplasty?
Total knee arthroplasty is used to treat end-stage knee osteoarthritis with great results. Tourniquet use has become popular over the years because of its various benefits, but the literature regarding functional outcomes, pain and rehabilitation and comparison between tourniquet use and improvement cement penetration and overall improve fixation is limited. The authors proposed a hypothesis that cementation quality, and clinical outcomes can be influenced by tourniquet technique. ⋯ No difference was attained regarding functional outcomes and cementation quality regarding two different tourniquet protocols.

Diagnostic accuracy of wrist MRI in comparison to wrist arthroscopy regarding TFCC lesions in clinical practice.
The purpose of this study was to arthroscopically verify MRI diagnostic accuracy for triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) lesions in a regular clinical environment. ⋯ The accuracy of MRI in a regular clinical environment still remains inferior to wrist arthroscopy for detection of TFCC lesions. Development of a standard MRI protocol may be implemented on a regular basis and application of the Palmer classification for TFCC lesion should be sought.

Accuracy of biplanar linear radiography versus conventional radiographs when used for lower limb and implant measurements.
The current standard of care for measuring lower extremity length and angular discrepancies is using a full-length standing anteroposterior radiograph. However, there has been increasing interest to use biplanar linear EOS imaging as an alternative. This study aims to compare lower extremity length and implant measurements between biplanar linear and conventional radiographs. ⋯ First, there is a significant difference in the lower extremity length when comparing conventional and biplanar linear radiographs. Second, biplanar linear radiographs are found to be accurate while conventional radiographs are not as accurate in implant measurements of length and width in the lower extremity.
