Prospective analysis of grip strength and load distribution after surgical treatment of common diseases of the hand with novel's manugraphy® system.
Carpal tunnel syndrome, A1 annular pulley stenosis and Dupuytren's contracture are among the most common conditions of the hand. In this study, we investigated the impact of surgical procedure on hand grip strength and high-resolution spatial load distribution in individuals suffering from those diseases over a follow-up period of one year. ⋯ Surgical procedure in carpal tunnel syndrome, A1 annular ligament stenosis and Dupuytren's contracture improves the functionality of the hand in everyday life. Some areas of the hand seem to compensate other weaker areas in grip strength.

Review Meta AnalysisOutcome of different reconstruction options using allografts in revision total hip arthroplasty for severe acetabular bone loss: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Several studies have reported good to excellent outcomes of revision total hip arthroplasty (rTHA) using allografts for treating severe acetabular bone defects. However, precise information on the impact of allograft type and reconstruction method is not available. ⋯ PROSPERO: CRD42020223093.

Pain and rehabilitation after total hip arthroplasty are approach dependent: results 6 weeks and 2 years after surgery in a multisurgeon, single-center, and prospective cohort study.
The aim of this study was the evaluation of pain, function, and overall satisfaction after total hip arthroplasty (THA) using three different standard surgical approaches (DAA (direct anterior approach), lateral, and posterior approach) 2 years postoperatively. Additionally, we compared the results with recently published results of the same study population 6 weeks postoperatively. ⋯ Prospective cohort study, level of evidence 2.

ReviewNo clinical consequence of liner malseating in dual-mobility THAs at short term: a systematic review.
Liner malseating is well described in ceramic-on-ceramic total hip arthroplasties (THAs). However, limited information is known on this complication among dual-mobility articulations. As such, this systematic review analyzed liner malseating in dual-mobility THAs concerning prevalence, clinical implications, and associated risk factors. ⋯ IV.

ReviewDoes response to preoperative intra-articular anesthetic injections predict outcomes of femoroacetabular impingement syndrome?
Some patients with femoroacetabular impingement syndrome (FAIS) who undergo surgery do not show satisfactory outcomes. Reliable tests that can inform prognosis of FAIS surgery are needed for optimized indications and contraindications to surgery. We aimed to review and critically appraise available literature on the capability of patient response to preoperative intra-articular anesthetic injections (PIAI) to predict post-surgical outcomes in patients with FAIS. ⋯ Greater reductions in pain with preoperative intra-articular anesthetic injections were found to be associated to better outcomes after FAIS surgery, but all available studies contain a high risk of bias.
