ReviewHigh-degree posterior rotational osteotomy for extensive collapsed femoral head osteonecrosis in teenagers: remodeling and results with a mean of 10-year follow-up.
This study evaluated the effectiveness of high-degree posterior rotational osteotomy for teenagers with extensively collapsed femoral head osteonecrosis. ⋯ We concluded that this procedure is effective at delaying the progression of degeneration if adequate area of viable bone can be moved under the loaded portion of the acetabulum in teenagers with severe femoral head osteonecrosis.

Inside-out and all-inside arthroscopic meniscal repairs are widely performed. However, it remains unclear which method promotes greater clinical outcomes. This study compared inside-out versus all-inside arthroscopic meniscal repair in terms of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), failures, return to play, and symptoms. ⋯ Level III, systematic review.

Meta AnalysisPrevalence of the anterosuperior capsulolabral anatomical variations and their association with pathologies of the glenoid labrum: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
Differentiating the anatomical variations of the anterosuperior portion of the glenoid labrum from pathologies is important to avoid unnecessary iatrogenic complications resulting from inaccurate diagnosis. Additionally, the presence of several variations was reported to be conductive to lesions involving the glenoid labrum. Thus, the aim of this study was to state the prevalence rates of the sublabral recess, sublabral foramen, and the Buford complex, and to verify their association with labral lesions. ⋯ Morphological variants of the glenoid labrum posing diagnostic confusion are frequently observed. Gradually, the Buford complex may be a predisposing factor for sustaining a SLAP lesion.

ReviewA modified minimally invasive osteotomy for hallux valgus enables reduction of malpositioned sesamoid bones.
The current minimally invasive distal metatarsal osteotomy for hallux valgus (HV) is V-shaped, which prevents the correction of the rotational metatarsal head deformity and reduction of the sesamoid bones. We sought to determine the optimal method for sesamoid bone reduction during HV surgery. ⋯ The modified minimally invasive osteotomy was superior to the other two techniques in correcting HV deformity in all planes, including sesamoid reduction.

Patient factors impacting localization of popliteal artery before total knee arthroplasty.
Intraoperative injury to the popliteal artery (PA) should be avoided during total knee arthroplasty (TKA). This study was performed to clarify the preoperative localization of the PA and the patient factors that impact its localization as a preventive measure. ⋯ Special attention should be paid to women with a small physique on the femoral side and/or patients with a large flexion angle on the tibial side as a strategy to prevent PA-related complications.
