Quality of life from return to work and sports activities to sexual dysfunction after surgical treatment of acetabular fractures.
To evaluate the outcomes of patients treated for acetabular fractures in terms of Quality of Life (QoL), return to work, functional outcome, sports activities, and post-operative sexual dysfunction. ⋯ Acetabular fractures affect patients' life as a whole, beyond the mere functional outcomes, often leading to a high rate of job loss and a significant probability of sexual functional worsening, especially for men. A significant number of patients also underwent THA at an early follow-up. Further efforts should aim at optimizing the surgical management, to improve functionality and the entire QoL sphere of patients affected by acetabular fractures.

Review Meta AnalysisThe use of platelet-rich plasma in studies with early knee osteoarthritis versus advanced stages of the disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis of 31 randomized clinical trials.
Reports have concluded that platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an effective and safe biological approach to treating knee osteoarthritis (OA). However, the effectiveness of PRP in advanced stages of the disease is not entirely clear. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether the use of PRP would be as effective in studies with early-moderate knee OA patients compared to studies including patients with end-stage OA, based on the Kellgren-Lawrence classification. ⋯ Our results indicate that including patients with advanced knee OA does not seem to affect the outcomes of clinical trials in which the effectiveness of the PRP in knee OA is assessed.
