The optimal measurement method considering reliability and validity in the anterior knee laxity of anterior cruciate ligament tears.
To seek an optimal measurement method with high reliability and high validity for evaluation of the anterior knee laxity on stress radiographs and comparing the translation values to those of KT-2000 arthrometer. ⋯ Case Series, Level IV.

Review Meta AnalysisEffect of extracorporeal shockwave therapy on plantar fascia thickness in plantar fasciitis: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) has been used as a therapeutic option for plantar fasciitis. The objective was to investigate the effect of ESWT over the plantar fascia thickness. ⋯ Our results suggest that plantar fascia thickness is significantly decreased after ESWT intervention in patients with plantar fasciitis. However, pain relief was not significantly improved compared to other non-surgical interventions.

Review Meta AnalysisParatenon preserving repair of the midsubstance acute Achilles tendon rupture: a systematic review and meta-analysis with best- and worst-case analyses for rerupture rates.
Paratenon preserving techniques to facilitate acute Achilles tendon rupture repair (AATR) functions by maintaining vascularity and biology for optimal healing response. Therefore, the purpose is to evaluate the outcomes following paratenon preserving repair of the midsubstance AATR. The hypothesis was that paratenon-preserving techniques demonstrate high return to play rates and low complication rates for the repair of the midsubstance AATR. ⋯ Paratenon preserving techniques that are minimally invasive in nature demonstrated safe and favorable outcomes with high return to play rates and low complication rates for the repair of the midsubstance AATR.

Review Case ReportsMelorheostosis of the cervical and cervicothoracic spine: review of the literature and presentation of 3 new cases.
Melorheostosis is a rare dysplastic bone disease that usually affects long bones at the upper or lower limbs. It is rarely seen at the spine and very rarely located at the cervical spine. ⋯ Here, we give an overview of the current literature of spinal melorheostosis with respect to number of cases and skeletal distribution, aetiology, radiographic appearance, symptoms and treatment. Finally, we describe 3 new clinical cases with manifestation of melorheostosis at the cervical spine and the cervicothoracic junction.

ReviewManagement of paediatric fifth metacarpal neck fractures: a systematic review.
Fifth metacarpal neck fractures (FMCNFs) are common among paediatric patients. Complications include reduced metacarpophalangeal (MCP) range of motion and grip strength, which impede the hand's functional abilities. Various management options are available, but indications are not standardised. This systematic review aims to assimilate all available evidence on the management of paediatric FMCNFs to determine appropriate treatment pathways. ⋯ This review suggests paediatric FMCNFs can be safely managed with immobilisation alone when there is an absence of rotational deformity and an angulation of < 30°. In the case of a higher fracture angulation or rotational deformity, fracture reduction and surgical fixation is an appropriate method of management.
