Review Meta AnalysisBeyond one step: unveiling optimal approach for bilateral knee arthroplasty - a comprehensive meta-analysis.
Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is an efficient and common procedure used to treat advanced osteoarthritis of the knee. Geriatric patients make up the majority of TKA patients. For the surgical management of bilateral knee arthritis, there is still debate regarding whether to do a simultaneous or staged TKA. We through this study have gathered data and aimed to assess the safety of simultaneous bilateral TKA in patients. ⋯ Staged bilateral TKA is associated with less complication rates as compared to simultaneous bilateral TKA. Hence, patients should be counselled and selected based on the risks respective to each strategy.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyTendon graft through the coracoid tunnel versus under the coracoid for coracoclavicular/acromioclavicular reconstruction shows no difference in radiographic or patient-reported outcomes.
The purpose of this prospective study was to report the outcomes of two different methods in CC and AC reconstruction for the treatment of AC separation using a tendon graft and knot-hiding titanium clavicular implant. ⋯ This clinical trial was registered on Clinicaltrials.gov.

Comparative StudyOutpatient vs. inpatient designation in total hip arthroplasty: can we predict who will require hospitalization?
Following removal of total hip arthroplasty (THA) from the inpatient only (IPO) list by the Center for Medicare Services (CMS), arthroplasty surgeons face increased pressure to perform procedures on an outpatient (OP) basis. The purposes of the present study were to compare patients booked for THA as OP who required conversion to IP status postoperatively, to patients who were booked as, and remained OP, and to identify factors predictive of conversion from OP to IP status. ⋯ Retrospective Cohort Study.

Comparative StudyComparison of postoperative outcomes between endoscopy assisted minimal invasive direct anterior approach and bikini direct anterior approach in total hip arthroplasty.
We have innovatively developed a modified bikini direct anterior approach total hip arthroplasty (THA), endoscopy assisted minimal invasive direct anterior approach (Endo-DAA). The study compared aesthetic appearance of the scar, postoperative radiographic and functional outcomes, and complications of Endo-DAA with Bikini-DAA. ⋯ Compared with Bikini-incision, Endo-DAA improves patients' subjective satisfaction with scar aesthetics, accelerates rapid recovery of postoperative function, and reduces postoperative complications.
