Comparative StudyComparison between conservative treatment and arthroscopic pull-out repair of the medial meniscus root tear and analysis of prognostic factors for the determination of repair indication.
This study was undertaken to compare the clinical outcomes between the conservative treatment and pull-out repair of the medial meniscus root tear (MMRT), and to analyze the prognostic factors of the MMRT repair for the determination of repair indication. ⋯ The MMRT pull-out repair group had better clinical results than that the conservative treatment group. However, severe varus alignment and severe degeneration of cartilage status were a poor prognostic factor, and there was no significant difference between the severe varus alignment or severe cartilage change and the conservative treatment group in the clinical results. The other optional treatment could be recommended for patients who have MMRT with a severe varus knee alignment or severe cartilage.

Randomized Controlled TrialTransdermal fentanyl patch improves post-operative pain relief and promotes early functional recovery in patients undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty: a prospective, randomised, controlled trial.
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a 12.5 μg/h transdermal fentanyl patch (TFP). ⋯ We conclude that a 12.5 μg/h TFP can improve post-operative pain relief and promotes early functional recovery following total knee arthroplasty.

The efficacy of pedicle screw instrument in treatment of irreducible atlantoaxial dislocation.
To explore the effect of pedicle screw instrument in treatment of irreducible atlantoaxial dislocation. ⋯ Pedicle screw instrument has the following advantages in atlas and axis injury treatment: direct screw placement, short-segment fusion, intraoperative reduction and high fusion rate, which should be a better surgical method for the treatment of atlantoaxial dislocation.

Outcome of transtrochanteric rotational osteotomy for posttraumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head with a mean follow-up of 12.3 years.
This study examined the outcomes of applying transtrochanteric rotational osteotomy (TRO) for posttraumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ON). ⋯ TRO to correct posttraumatic ON resulted in favorable midterm results. The possible risk factors for conversion to THA were an advanced preoperative stage and a postoperative intact ratio of less than 33.6 %.

Comparative StudyThe effects of the Frag-Loc(®) compression screw on distal radius fracture with a displaced dorsoulnar fragment.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the radiographic and clinical outcomes of the Frag-Loc(®) compression screw with palmar plate fixation on distal radius fractures that include a displaced dorsoulnar fragment. ⋯ This study shows that the Frag-Loc(®) compression screw can reduce the gap distance between the dorsoulnar fragment and the distal radius, according to evaluation of post-surgical axial and sagittal CT scans. This result suggests that the Frag-Loc(®) compression screw is an effective and simple treatment option to immobilize a dorsoulnar fragment associated with distal radius fracture.
