Meniscus suture provides better clinical and biomechanical results at 1-year follow-up than meniscectomy.
Surgery of meniscus tear results in limitation of function. The aim of study was functional assessment of knee 1 year after surgery with two techniques in cases of the medial meniscus tear followed by the same supervised rehabilitation. ⋯ Results suggest worse functional effects when meniscectomy is applied which implies modification of the rehabilitative methods in a postoperative period.

A 30-year-old male was diagnosed with a disruption of the musculofibrotic abdominal wall as a result of a blunt trauma 3 years after the injury. His traumatic abdominal wall hernia (TAWH) was initially missed on physical examination and computed tomography. ⋯ Missing a TAWH might have major consequences, such as incarceration and strangulation. Therefore, it is important to consider a TAWH after blunt abdominal trauma.

The protective role of dynamic stabilization on the adjacent disc to a rigid instrumented level. An in vitro biomechanical analysis.
To assess the changes of intradiscal pressure at the bridged and at the adjacent levels to a lumbar two-level hybrid instrumentation. ⋯ The raise of intradiscal pressure at the adjacent segment to a rigid instrumented segment can be reduced when the rigid construct is augmented with a dynamic stabilization device. Hybrid constructs might have a possible protecting role preventing the occurrence of degenerative disc changes at the adjacent segment to a rigid instrumented level. Augmentation with a dynamic stabilization device might protect the disc above a rigid rod pedicle screw construct.

Computer-assisted total knee arthroplasty: impact of the surgeon's experience on the component placement.
Accuracy of implant positioning in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has a major impact on postoperative outcomes. We investigate the accuracy of positioning of multiples values simultaneously in TKA navigated, even among novice users. ⋯ The satisfactory HKA alignment was not the result of reversed errors between the tibia and the femur, since it correlated the successful simultaneous results of alpha and beta angles.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyClinical assessment of a CMC/PEO gel to inhibit postoperative epidural adhesion formation after lumbar discectomy: a randomized, control study.
To evaluate effectiveness of carboxymethylcellulose/polyethylene oxide (CMC/PEO) gel in improving clinical outcomes after the first-time lumbar discectomy. ⋯ The results demonstrated that CMC/PEO gel is effective in reducing posterior dural adhesions in the spine with no apparent safety issues. It can improve patients' postoperative clinical outcome.
