Venous compression syndromes are rare and occur due to the entrapment of vein(s) in confined anatomical spaces bounded by osseous and non-osseous structures. Here we present a review of Paget-Schroetter Syndrome, an important cause of upper extremity of deep vein thrombosis, its associated clinical and radiological findings as well as treatment options.

The "Adductor canal syndrome" has been described as an unusual cause of acute arterial occlusion inside the Hunter's canal in young sportsmen. It may also produce a compressive neuropathy of the saphenous nerve. To our knowledge, femoral vein compression in the canal has never been reported. ⋯ Compression of the femoral vein inside the adductor's canal is an underestimated and misdiagnosed cause of postural stenosis of the femoral vein. Ultrasound investigation of both limbs in patients with chronic venous disease (CVD) should be systematically carried out at this precise level in order to prevent future occlusion and onset of acute deep vein thrombosis.

Changes in internet search trends can provide healthcare professionals detailed information on prevalence of disease and symptoms. Chronic venous disease, more commonly known as varicose veins, is a common symptomatic disease among the adult population. This study aims to measure the change in global search demand for varicose vein information using Google over the past 8 years. ⋯ There is increasing demand for information about varicose veins on the internet, especially during the warmer months of the year. Online search demand does not appear to be related to healthcare spending.

To evaluate the complications of the temporary implanted inferior vena cava (IVC) filter and the feasibility of double-loop technique for removal of complicated IVC filters. ⋯ The double-loop technique is a safe and feasible method for complicated IVC filter retrieval.

Deep venous thrombosis treatment using catheter-directed thrombolysis is advocated over systemic thrombolysis because it reduces bleeding complications. With the development of a catheter that combines ultrasound vibrations and the local delivering of thrombolytics, new and safer treatments appear that are suitable for more complex problems. ⋯ EKOS thrombolysis of longer existing bilateral deep venous thrombosis in the central venous system is a successful treatment modality in congenital inferior vena cava anomalies.
