Ganglioneuromas are uncommon, benign, and highly differentiated tumors arising from sympathetic ganglia. Common sites for these tumors include the paraspinal region of the retroperitoneum and posterior mediastinum. We report a case of a retropharyngeal ganglioneuroma, a rare occurrence, emphasizing its key imaging characteristics.

Posterior cerebral artery aneurysms are treatment challenge for the neurosurgeon. Parent artery occlusion, trapping and bypass have been the classic treatment options for aneurysms in this location. With the introduction of newer embolic agents such as Onyx®, endovascular intervention is now a viable therapy for these aneurysms. ⋯ This report illustrates the ability of a high-density liquid embolic agent to provide immediate reconstruction of a fusiform aneurysm in a distal location.

The effect of oversized intracranial stent implantation, and potential excessive neointimal hyperplasia from the chronic outward radial force, has not been reported. We sought to compare the angiographic narrowing associated with implantation of oversized stents. ⋯ A small significant lumen loss occurs at stent tines when compared to midstent struts. However, there is no overall significant stenosis from highly oversized stents. Persistent luminal gain from the oversized stent radial force likely predominates over any neointimal hyperplasia.

Paradoxical embolism through extracardiac right-to-left shunts (ECRLS) may represent an under-detected stroke mechanism. Stroke patients without evidence of cardiac right-to-left shunt (RLS) on echocardiogram may benefit from transcranial Doppler with bubble study (TCD-b) to aid in recognition of stroke etiology. This study assesses the usefulness of TCD-b in the stroke evaluation. ⋯ TCD-bubble studies may prove useful in uncovering treatable causes of stroke.

Small animal neuroimaging using magnetic resonance microscopy (MRM) has evolved significantly from understanding of imaging physics to widely use today as an important tool in computational neuroanatomy, while how to get optimal inhomogeneity correction for inhomogeneous mouse brain MRM has been given less attention. ⋯ The present study demonstrates the benefit of reducing the spline distance values to 25 and tighter mask. The finding can help researches to enhance precision in studies where mouse MRM need further registration or segmentation.
