To evaluate the effect of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Heads-Up concussion campaign on appropriateness of discharge instructions for youth sports-related concussion (SRC) patients presenting to a pediatric emergency department (ED). ⋯ Even with the CDC Heads-Up campaign on concussion education, there is still need to improve appropriateness of discharge instructions for youth SRCs. There have been dramatic increases in referrals to sports concussion specialists and centers after 2010.

Preventive effects of 10-day supplementation with saffron and indomethacin on the delayed-onset muscle soreness.
Delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) often occurs after unaccustomed eccentric exercise and reduces exercise performance. We aimed to study the preventive effects of saffron and indomethacin on the biochemical and functional indicators of DOMS after 1-session eccentric exercise. ⋯ The saffron can be used to prevent DOMS and alleviate the DOMS symptoms.

To evaluate the utility of the Sideline Concussion Assessment Tool (SCAT)-2 in collegiate athletes with sport-related concussion. ⋯ The SCAT-2 total composite score and each subcomponent are useful in the assessment of concussion. As SCAT-3 is similar to SCAT-2, it is expected that it too will be a useful tool.
