Comparison of three accelerated pulse sequences for semiquantitative myocardial perfusion imaging using sensitivity encoding incorporating temporal filtering (TSENSE).
To investigate the parallel acquisition technique sensitivity encoding incorporating temporal filtering (TSENSE) with three saturation-recovery (SR) prepared pulse sequences (SR turbo fast low-angle shot [SR-TurboFLASH], SR true fast imaging with steady precession [SR-TrueFISP], and SR-prepared segmented echo-planar-imaging [SR-segEPI]) for semiquantitative first-pass myocardial perfusion imaging. ⋯ Semiquantitative myocardial perfusion imaging can significantly benefit from TSENSE due to shorter acquisition times and increased linearity of the pulse sequences. Among the three pulse sequences tested, SR-TrueFISP yielded best image quality. SR-segEPI proved to be an interesting alternative due to shorter acquisition times, higher linearity and fewer dark-banding artifacts.

To determine the feasibility of diffusion-weighted (DW) MRI of uterine endometrial cancer and to investigate whether the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of endometrial cancer differ from those of normal endometrium and whether they differ according to the histologic grade of the tumor. ⋯ The present study showed that DW imaging is feasible in demonstrating uterine endometrial cancer and ADC measurement has a potential ability to differentiate between normal and cancerous tissue of the endometrium. The ADC values of endometrial cancers of higher grade show tendency to decrease compared to those of lower grade, although estimation of histologic grade based on ADC values seems difficult because of considerable overlap.

A new EPI-based dynamic field mapping method: application to retrospective geometrical distortion corrections.
To retrospectively correct for geometrical distortions, a new dynamic field mapping method suitable for dynamic single-shot gradient-echo type echo-planar imaging (GRE-EPI) is proposed. ⋯ Given the minor increase in the acquisition time, this method is well suited for functional magnetic resonance imaging; prospective direction.
