Comparative Study Clinical TrialDiffusion-weighted imaging of the liver: comparison of navigator triggered and breathhold acquisitions.
To compare a free breathing navigator triggered single shot echoplanar imaging (SS EPI) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) sequence with prospective acquisition correction (PACE) with a breathhold (BH) DWI sequence for liver imaging. ⋯ The use of a navigator echo to trigger SS EPI DWI improves image quality and liver to lesion contrast, and enables a more precise ADC quantification compared with BH DWI acquisition.

Comparative Study(1)H spectroscopic imaging of human brain at 3 Tesla: comparison of fast three-dimensional magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging techniques.
To investigate the signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) and data quality of time-reduced three-dimensional (3D) proton magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging ((1)H MRSI) techniques in the human brain at 3 Tesla. ⋯ Data from all (1)H 3D-MRSI techniques were qualitatively acceptable, based upon SNR, linewidths, and metabolite ratios. The larger field of view obtained with the EPSI methods showed negligible lipid aliasing with acceptable SNR values in less than 9.5 min without compromising the point-spread function.

Initial experience on utility of gadobenate dimeglumine (Gd-BOPTA) enhanced T1-weighted MR cholangiography in diagnosis of acute cholecystitis.
To investigate the feasibility of the use of gadobenate dimeglumine (also known as Gd-BOPTA) -enhanced T1-weighted MR cholangiography in diagnosis of acute cholecystitis. ⋯ In addition to anatomical assessment, Gd-BOPTA-enhanced MR cholangiography can provide functional evaluation similar to HIDA scintigraphy in diagnosing acute cholecystitis in patients with acute right upper quadrant pain and equivocal findings.

Assessment of mediastinal tumors with diffusion-weighted single-shot echo-planar MRI.
To assess the role of diffusion-weighted single-shot echo-planar magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with mediastinal tumors. ⋯ The ADC value is a noninvasive parameter that can be used for differentiation of malignant from benign mediastinal tumors and grading of mediastinal malignancy.

Single-shot steady-state free precession can detect myocardial edema in patients: a feasibility study.
To demonstrate the ability of single-shot, T(2)/T(1) weighted steady-state free precession (SSFP) to detect myocardial edema in patients with an acute myocardial infarction. ⋯ Using single-shot SSFP to detect myocardial edema in patients with AMI is feasible with a moderate sensitivity and high specificity.
