Isotropic morphometry and multicomponent T1 ρ mapping of human knee articular cartilage in vivo at 3T.
The progressive loss of hyaline articular cartilage due to osteoarthritis (OA) changes the functional and biochemical properties of cartilage. Measuring the T1 ρ along with the morphological assessment can potentially be used as noninvasive biomarkers in detecting early-stage OA. To correlate the biochemical and morphological data, submillimeter isotropic resolution for both studies is required. ⋯ 2 Technical Efficacy: Stage 1 J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2018;48:1707-1716.

Observational StudyValidation of a motion-robust 2D sequential technique for quantification of hepatic proton density fat fraction during free breathing.
Current chemical-shift-encoded (CSE) MRI techniques for measuring hepatic proton density fat fraction (PDFF) are sensitive to motion artifacts. ⋯ 1 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2018;48:1578-1585.

Preoperative tumor texture analysis on MRI predicts high-risk disease and reduced survival in endometrial cancer.
Improved methods for preoperative risk stratification in endometrial cancer are highly requested by gynecologists. Texture analysis is a method for quantification of heterogeneity in images, increasingly reported as a promising diagnostic tool in various cancer types, but largely unexplored in endometrial cancer. ⋯ 2 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2018;48:1637-1647.

Assessment of breast mass morphology with diffusion-weighted MRI: Beyond apparent diffusion coefficient.
Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is a noncontrast-enhanced MRI technique. There are new promising studies on the use of DWI as a part of the enhanced or unenhanced abbreviated breast MRI protocols. ⋯ 3 Technical Efficacy: Stage 2 J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2018;48:1668-1677.
