Liver lesion conspicuity during real-time MR-guided radiofrequency applicator placement using spoiled gradient echo and balanced steady-state free precession imaging.
To retrospectively evaluate the conspicuity of liver lesions in a fluoroscopic spoiled gradient echo (GRE) and a balanced steady-state free precession (SSFP) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequence. ⋯ MR fluoroscopy using GRE and SSFP contrast enabled real-time detectability of 80% of the liver lesions.

To evaluate a novel real-time phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique for the assessment of through-plane flow in the ascending aorta. ⋯ Real-time phase-contrast MRI of blood flow in the human aorta yields functional parameters for individual heartbeats. When averaged across heartbeats real-time flow velocities and stroke volumes are comparable to values obtained by conventional cine MRI.

Gadoxetate disodium in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis: an analysis of hepatobiliary contrast excretion.
To assess hepatobiliary excretion of gadoxetate disodium in patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) over time and to determine a possible correlation with severity of the disease. ⋯ Hepatobiliary excretion of gadoxetate disodium in PSC patients is significantly delayed. Excretion correlates with bilirubin levels, and thus indirectly with severity of disease.

Comparative StudyAbdominal MRI at 3.0 T: LAVA-Flex compared with conventional fat suppression T1-weighted images.
To study liver imaging with volume acceleration-flexible (LAVA-Flex) for abdominal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at 3.0 T and compare the image quality of abdominal organs between LAVA-Flex and fast spoiled gradient-recalled (FSPGR) T1-weighted imaging. ⋯ The LAVA-Flex sequence offers superior and more homogenous fat suppression of the abdomen than does the FSPGR sequence. The fat-only phase can be a simple and effective method of assessing fatty liver.

Randomized Controlled TrialFully automated tool to identify the aorta and compute flow using phase-contrast MRI: validation and application in a large population based study.
To assess if fully automated localization of the aorta can be achieved using phase contrast (PC) MR images. ⋯ A robust fully automated tool to localize the aorta and provide flow volume measurements on phase contrast MRI was validated on a large population-based study.
