Comparative StudyDiffusion-weighted imaging of the prostate: Comparison of b1000 and b2000 image sets for index lesion detection.
To compare tumor detection on acquired diffusion-weighted (DW) images and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps, obtained using b-values of 1000 s/mm(2) and 2000 s/mm(2) , using radical prostatectomy as the reference. ⋯ Use of a b-value of 2000 s/mm(2) compared with a b-value of 1000 s/mm(2) resulted in improved tumor sensitivity and higher tumor-to-PZ contrast on the acquired DW images, although performance of the ADC maps corresponding with the two b-values was similar. Correlation with tumor size was greater for either ADC map than for either acquired DW image set.

Randomized Controlled TrialTiming of the hepatic arterial phase at Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced hepatic dynamic MRI: comparison of the test-injection and the fixed-time delay method.
To compare the fixed-time- and the test-injection method with respect to the image quality of hypervascular hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and the adequacy of timing of the hepatic arterial phase (HAP) in Gd-EOB-DTPA (EOB) enhanced MRI. ⋯ At EOB-enhanced hepatic dynamic MRI, the test-injection method yielded better image quality of hypervascular HCC and improved adequacy of timing of HAP.

Comparative StudyComparison of dixon and T1-weighted MR methods to assess the degree of fat infiltration in duchenne muscular dystrophy patients.
To compare different lipid multipeak spectral models to the single-peak model in Dixon-based fat-water separation and to evaluate differences between visually scored magnetic resonance (MR) images and quantitatively assessed fat fractions in muscle of Duchenne muscular dystrophy patients. ⋯ There are minor differences between the various lipid spectral models in terms of quantifying fat fraction in a large number of skeletal muscles in the legs of Duchenne patients and healthy controls. Quantitative 3-point Dixon MRI is more precise and reliable than visual radiological methods for evaluation of fat fractions for potential longitudinal follow-up or therapy evaluation of Duchenne patients.

Subcompartmentalization of extracellular extravascular space (EES) into permeability and leaky space with local arterial input function (AIF) results in improved discrimination between high- and low-grade glioma using dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI.
To modify the generalized tracer kinetic model (GTKM) by introducing an additional tissue uptake leakage compartment in extracellular extravascular space (LTKM). In addition, an implicit determination of voxel-wise local arterial input function (AIF) Cp (t) was performed to see whether these changes help in better discrimination between low- and high-grade glioma using dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). ⋯ LTKM with local AIF provides more accurate estimation of physiological parameters and improves discrimination between low-grade and high-grade gliomas as compared with GTKM.

Diffusion tensor imaging of normal-appearing white matter in unilateral cerebral arterial occlusive disease.
To use MR with diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and conventional and high b value to assess diffusion changes in normal-appearing white matter (NAWM) in patients with unilateral, severe stenosis, or occlusion of the middle cerebral artery (MCA). ⋯ DTI with a high b value detects diffusion changes in NAWM in patients with unilateral, severe stenosis, or occlusion of the MCA not seen with conventional b value or conventional MRI contrasts.
