Diffusion-weighted echo-planar magnetic resonance imaging for the assessment of tumor cellularity in patients with soft-tissue sarcomas.
To investigate the eligibility of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) for the evaluation of tumor cellularity in patients with soft-tissue sarcomas. ⋯ DWI has proven useful for the assessment of tumor cellularity in soft-tissue sarcomas. In result, DWI may be used as a powerful noninvasive tool to monitor responses of cytotoxic treatment as reflected by changes in tumor cellularity.

ToF-SWI: simultaneous time of flight and fully flow compensated susceptibility weighted imaging.
To perform systematic investigations on parameter selection of a dual-echo sequence (ToF-SWI) for combined 3D time-of-flight (ToF) angiography and susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI). ⋯ A dual-echo sequence (ToF-SWI) with full flow compensation of the second echo in a single scan is feasible. This sequence allows simultaneous visualization of intrinsically coregistered arteries and veins without spatial mis-registration of vessels caused by oblique flow and with minimal signal loss in arteries.

Optimized high-resolution mapping of magnetization transfer (MT) at 3 Tesla for direct visualization of substructures of the human thalamus in clinically feasible measurement time.
To optimize contrast-to-noise and spatial resolution of a FLASH-based magnetization transfer (MT) protocol for visualization of substructures in human thalamus. ⋯ Semiquantitative MT saturation maps provide an enhanced intra-thalamic contrast. The borders and nuclear groups of the thalamus are reliably delineated; individual assignment of singular nuclei seems feasible.

Comparative StudyMeasurement of deep gray matter perfusion using a segmented true-fast imaging with steady-state precession (True-FISP) arterial spin-labeling (ASL) method at 3T.
To study the feasibility of using the MRI technique of segmented true-fast imaging with steady-state precession arterial spin-labeling (True-FISP ASL) for the noninvasive measurement and quantification of local perfusion in cerebral deep gray matter at 3T. ⋯ Segmented True-FISP ASL is a practical and quantitative technique suitable to measure local tissue perfusion in cerebral deep gray matter at a high spatial resolution without the susceptibility artifacts commonly associated with EPI-based methods of ASL.

Microperfusion-induced elevation of ADC is suppressed after contrast in breast carcinoma.
To investigate the effect of gadolinium (Gd)-DTPA on the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of breast carcinoma and to analyze the relationship between pre/postcontrast ADC and the degree of contrast enhancement. ⋯ Postcontrast ADC exhibited lower values than precontrast ADC, which is thought to reflect suppression of the microperfusion-induced effect on diffusion-weighted imaging. Postcontrast ADC may be a better indicator than precontrast ADC to reflect malignant potential of tumors.
