Practice Guideline
[Diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular risk: Working group recommendations of Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease of the Spanish Society of Diabetes (SED, 2015)].
The present paper updates the Clinical Practice Recommendations for the management of cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) in diabetes mellitus. This is a medical consensus agreed by an independent panel of experts from the Spanish Society of Diabetes (SED). Several consensuses have been proposed by scientific and medical Societies to achieve clinical goals. ⋯ Intervention strategies for managing CVRF in the diabetic patient are reviewed in detail: balanced food intake, weight reduction, physical exercise, smoking cessation, reduction in HbA1c, therapy for high blood pressure, obesity, lipid disorders, and platelet anti-aggregation. It is hoped that these guidelines can help clinicians in the decisions of their clinical activity. This regular update by the SED Cardiovascular Disease Group of the most relevant concepts, and of greater practical and realistic clinical interest, is presented in order to reduce CVR of diabetics.

To obtain a scale of tobacco exposure to address smoking cessation. ⋯ The proposed scale allows a valid measurement of exposure to smoking and provides a useful and simple approach that can help promote a willingness to change, as well as prevention. It still needs to demonstrate its validity, taking as reference other problems associated with smoking.

Randomized Controlled Trial
[Impact of pharmaceutical intervention in preventing relapses in depression in Primary Care].
To evaluate the long-term impact of a brief pharmacist intervention (PI) compared with usual care (UC) on prevention of depression relapse. ⋯ PI group showed a non-statistically significant tendency towards presenting fewer relapses. This could be related to the improvement in adherence among patients that received the intervention.

Observational Study
[PERSIRIS study: observational study, postmarketing, prospective, to evaluate the persistence to treatment with monthly risedronate in women with osteoporosis].
To assess the persistence of treatment with monthly risedronate and know the reasons of persistence and nontherapeutic persistence and the profile of the non-persistent patients. ⋯ The administration of therapeutic patterns more comfortable as monthly risedronate in osteoporosis, could facilitate persistence in patients improving the effectiveness of the drug. However in that persistence can also influence biodemographic and clinical variables and diverse of various kinds.
