In an earlier study, we identified 26 diseases of possible occupational origin, seen in different settings within the national health system in Catalonia. In this literature review we identify those occupational risk factors most strongly associated with these pathologies. ⋯ Ergonomic risk factors (manual handling of materials, highly repetitive movements and awkward postures), especially for musculoskeletal disorders of the upper extremity, and exposures to chemical products and physical agents, were prominent. These results provide an additional resource for primary care physicians to assist them with the identification of possible occupational illness and to improve communication between the National Health Service and social security system.

Multicenter Study
[Short physical performance battery reference values for patients 70 years-old and over in primary health care].
To provide new reference values for the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) for patients 70 years-old and over in primary health care (PHC), and analyse their relationship with demographic data, physical function, health and clinical status. ⋯ The reference values of the complete SPPB by age and sex are provided, based category scores in Primary Care patients 70 years-old and over. The Battery results can give a rapid and valid assessment of the functional state of elderly patient in Primary Care.

Practice Guideline
[Criteria for referral between levels of care of patients with peripheral vascular disease. SEMFYC-SEACV consensus document].
Coordination between care levels is essential to increase the efficiency of the Health System; vascular disease has an important role in this respects, as it includes frequent, serious and vulnerable conditions. Consensus documents are an essential tool to obtain these aims. This document is not expected to replace the Clinical Guidelines, but tries to establish the basis of the shared management of the patient with vascular disease (peripheral arterial disease, diabetic foot, and chronic venous insufficiency) in three ways: to determine the profile of the patient who should receive priority follow-up at every level; to establish the skills that every professional must have, and to set and to prioritise the referral criteria in both directions.

The Spanish Society of Family and Community Medicine (semFYC) and the Spanish Society of Angiology and Vascular Surgery (SEACV), through a Joint Working Group, have prepared a document on between care-level referrals of patients with the main vascular diseases; peripheral arterial disease, venous insufficiency, and diabetic foot. The responsibilities and skills required at each care level have been defined, as well as the criteria for mutual referral and how to prioritise them. The preparation of this consensus document attempt to provide an efficient tool that may ensure the continuity of health care, always respecting the specific characteristics and needs of each health care area.

To analyse the course of burnout and develop an explanatory model. ⋯ The increase in the prevalence found is consistent with the idea of burnout as a dynamic development and the theoretical model described. Stable and quality employment is one way to indirectly mitigate (by encouraging internal communication) professional burnout. In the multivariate analysis, the most critical variable in the onset of burnout is the inadequate coordination with nursing.
