Predicting Model of Lymph Node Metastasis Using Preoperative Tumor Grade, Transvaginal Ultrasound, and Serum CA-125 Level in Patients With Endometrial Cancer.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the predicting model for lymph node metastasis using preoperative tumor grade, transvaginal sonography (TVS), and serum cancer antigen 125 (CA-125) level in patients with endometrial cancer. ⋯ Preoperative tumor grade, myometrial invasion on preoperative TVS, and CA-125 can accurately predict lymph node metastasis in patients with endometrial cancer. The current study suggests the possibility that TVS could be positively used for preoperative evaluation strategy in the low-resource countries instead of expensive imaging modalities such as magnetic resonance imaging or positron emission tomography-computed tomography.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative StudyThe Safety of Ovarian Preservation in Early-Stage Adenocarcinoma Compared With Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Uterine Cervix: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies.
The aim of this study was to compare the incidence of ovarian metastasis (OM) in adenocarcinoma (ADC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) in early-stage cervical cancer and evaluate the safety of ovarian preservation in early-stage ADC. ⋯ Although the incidence of OM was higher in early-stage ADC than SCC according to ovarian pathology, it might be relatively safe to perform ovarian preservation with early-stage ADC because of low ovarian recurrence rate in short-term follow-ups.

Discussing Sexuality With Women Considering Risk-Reducing Salpingo-oophorectomy: An International Survey of Current Practice in Gynecologic Oncology.
To determine how frequently gynecologic oncologists discuss sexuality with women considering risk-reducing salpingo-oophorectomy. Secondary objectives were to assess the availability of resources, and the barriers to discussing sexuality. ⋯ Although most respondents believed that discussing sexuality should occur preoperatively, only 61% discuss this with every patient. Resources specifically relating to sexuality are limited. The most common barrier to discussing sexuality was fear of causing distress. Nearly one quarter of gynecologic oncologists felt inadequately trained to discuss sexual function.

Prior Tubal Ligation Might Influence Metastatic Spread of Nonendometrioid Endometrial Carcinoma.
The exfoliation of endometrial carcinoma might intraperitoneally spread through the fallopian tube. We analyzed the influence of prior tubal ligation (TL) in endometrial carcinoma to evaluate whether it can prevent the process and improve patients' survival. ⋯ Tubal ligation was associated with lower positive peritoneal cytology, stages, and recurrence rate, and improved prognosis among patients with nonendometrioid carcinoma. Tubal ligation might influence metastatic spread of nonendometrioid endometrial carcinoma. It could also help to reduce positive peritoneal cytology among patients with endometrioid carcinoma, but lacked prognostic significance.

Uterine Sarcoma: Analysis of 13,089 Cases Based on Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Database.
The aim was to study the incidence and survival of patients with uterine sarcoma diagnosed in the period from 2000 to 2012 based on Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. ⋯ Uterine sarcoma is an aggressive tumor that occurs more in old age and among women of black race. Poor survival was associated with old age, black race, and advanced disease stage. Radiotherapy in patients with localized stage does not improve the survival.
