The recall of Poly Implant Prothèse (PIP) silicone breast implants in 2010 resulted in large numbers of asymptomatic women with implants who underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) screening. This study's aim was to assess the accuracy and interobserver variability of MRI screening in the detection of rupture and extracapsular silicone leakage. ⋯ MRI has a high accuracy in diagnosing rupture in silicone breast implants. MRI appears to be a consistent diagnostic test with excellent interobserver agreement. A simple, uniform classification system, improves communication between radiologist and plastic surgeon. The interobserver agreement on implant rupture is higher than on extracapsular leakage.

Effective dose to patient measurements in flat-detector and multislice computed tomography: a comparison of applications in neuroradiology.
Flat-detector CT (FD-CT) is used for a variety of applications. Additionally, 3D rotational angiography (3D DSA) is used to supplement digital subtraction angiography (DSA) studies. The aim was to measure and compare the dose of (1) standard DSA and 3D DSA and (2) analogous FD-CT and multislice CT (MSCT) protocols. ⋯ Effective dose of FD-CT in comparison to MSCT is in comparable range. Collimation decreases the dose of FD-CT effectively. Effective dose of 3-D angiography is identical to 2-D DSA. Different FD-CT programs have different dose.

To investigate frequent findings in cases of fatal opioid intoxication in whole-body post-mortem computed tomography (PMCT). ⋯ Frequent findings in cases of fatal opioid intoxication were investigated. Lung oedema, brain oedema and full urinary bladder represent a highly specific constellation. This combination of findings in post-mortem CT should raise suspicion of intoxication.

Whole-body MRI for initial staging of paediatric lymphoma: prospective comparison to an FDG-PET/CT-based reference standard.
To compare whole-body MRI, including diffusion-weighted imaging (whole-body MRI-DWI), with FDG-PET/CT for staging newly diagnosed paediatric lymphoma. ⋯ • Accurate staging is important for treatment planning and assessing prognosis • Whole-body MRI-DWI could be a good radiation-free alternative to FDG-PET/CT • Interobserver agreement of whole-body MRI-DWI is good • Agreement between whole-body MRI and the FDG-PET/CT reference standard is good • Most discrepancies were caused by suboptimal accuracy of size measurements on MRI.

To find out any correlation between dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) model-based parameters and model-free parameters, and evaluate correlations between perfusion parameters with histologic prognostic factors. ⋯ • Kep mainly affected the initial and delayed curve pattern in time-signal intensity curve. • There is significant correlation between model-based and model-free parameters. • We acquired information about tumour vascular physiology, interstitial space volume and prognostic factors.
